Riley's POV

I get into work, and it is packed.

"Thank my lucky stars you're here!" Will exclaimed before pulling an apron over my head and pushing me towards the coffee machine. I was an expert barrister and usually in charge of making coffee. Another waitress rushed in and stood behind the till to take people's orders. I didn't get time to see her face before she left the till and grabbed a plate of scrambled eggs and toast.

I kept on making coffee for ages until Will said he'd take over. I started to wait tables and work the till. I was walking back to the till when I bumped into the mystery waitress.

"Oh my god I'm sorry!" I exclaimed as I rushed to help her pick up the broken plates.

"Its fine," she said as she covered the broken pieces with a cloth, then pulled it away to reveal three perfect plates. She stood up and stepped around me before I could look at her face.

"Riley!" Will yelled at me. "What just happened?"

"N-n-nothing," I stuttered.

"Good. Get back to work on the coffee machine," he said as he pulled me off the floor and again shoved me towards the coffee machine.

I spent the next half an hour making coffee, until I felt someone press against my back. They were trying to open the cupboard above my head but couldn't quite reach. I reached up and opened it and grabbed the strainer out of it, as it was the only thing in there. I turned around to see the person who had been reaching for the cupboard. My eyes locked with hers, which were bright blue. I can't believe I didn't recognize her before from the whole making the plates whole again thing.

"Hi." She said softly. "Ehhh." Was all I managed to say.She touched my hand as she reached for the strainer snapping me out of my daze.

"Oh ah sorry I um eh.... Hope ahhh... Uh here here." I said as I gave her the strainer. She looked down at it then back at me. "Thanks Riley." She said before turning and walking away.

Hope's POV

I was walking back from a table with the dishes in my hands when one of the waiters bumped into me. I reached down to fix up the plates.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry!" he exclaimed as he bent down to help me. "Its fine." I said back.

I covered the broken plates with a cloth and muttered a few words. I pulled the cloth away and picked up the fixed plates. Everyone clapped as they thought my magic was amazing. I whizzed around the waiter to the back and cleaned up the began making some orders.

While I cooked cheese toasties I thought about how the waiter seemed amazed when I fixed the plates. "He must be new." I mumbled.

Will burst through the back door. "I need a double cheese Macaroni stat." He yelled at me.

I rushed out to the cupboards trying to find the strainer. I walked over to the coffee machine where the waiter was standing. I tried to get the cupboard but couldn't reach. The waiter reached up and took the strainer out and turned around to face me.

My eyes locked with his hazel green ones. "Hi." I said softly.I could see by the way his hair stood on end when I talked that he was surprised to see me.

"Ehhh." Was all he managed to say. I reached for the strainer touching his hand a little which snapped him out of his trance.

"Oh ah sorry I um eh...  Hope ahhh... Uh here here." He managed to stumble out before pushing the strainer into my hands. I looked down at it then up to meet his eyes again.

"Thanks Riley." I said softly before turning back.

After that it was a pretty relaxed morning. The early morning breakfast rush had passed and the lunch rush wouldn't be for another hour or so. I kept seeing Riley look at me out of the corner of my eye. I was cleaning up the last of the tables when he walked in. He sat down and started to go through the menu.

"May I take your order Felix." I said to the sixteen year old boy who used to be my love.

"I'll have the pesto pasta and a cappuccino." He replied.

"Can I get you anything else?" I asked.

"Maybe a side order of you?" He questioned before taking my hand in his. I pulled it away. I lent down.

"Don't hold your breath." I whispered is his ear before turning and going into the kitchen.

Riley's POV

I kept on looking at her. She was so beautiful. I worried though as she knew what had happened that day. She knew how she got her powers and how I was involved. I tensed up as he entered.

"May I take your order Felix." Hope asked him calmly.

"I'll have the pesto pasta and a cappuccino." He replied. He shot me a quick glance as she was writing down his order.

"Can I get you anything else?" She asked.

"Maybe a side order of you?" He replied before taking Hope's hand in his. Much to my surprise, she pulled it away a look of anger on her face. She lent down and whispered something in his ear then turned and left into the kitchen.

I had a ten minute break and decided to go out the back to get some fresh air. I went into the corner and sat down and took out my phone. I was in the middle of a text when someone burst through the back door. Hope lent against the wall closest to the door. She obviously didn't notice me. She wiped her eyes. She lent her head against another wall making her small tattoo visible. She looked up to the sky. "I'm sorry Riley." She said to the heavens. She sat down against the wall. She took out a small plastic dagger from her pocket. She rubbed her thumb against the handle and turned it to a sharp real iron dagger. She took out a small rock and etched something into it then put it in her pocket and left.

A/N

Hi everyone. Sorry for the late update. I was busy on the weekend and didn't have time to write. I have some really good ideas of what to do with this story. I will fix up any grammar mistakes ASAP or my friend will as I'm not good with grammar or spelling. Thanks to IndgoTurtle101 for editing.
