An Old Wives Tale

  Long ago there lived two sisters the older, Celestia, and the younger, Luna. These sisters both ruled over a kingdom together, eventually the two sisters realized that the older was the better ruler and the younger was the better "people person" they separated into their two groups and continued to rule together for a long time. A thousand years passed without a hitch, but soon the older sister started to get used to the power. Her ego grew, but her younger sister was the only one aware of this change. Eventually the older sister decided to change how the people lived in there kingdom. She made thousands of new rules for them to follow, basically taking away their freedom, and locking them indoors all day. She would say "to keep my kingdom from evil we must make sacrifices"(notice she said "my" when talking about the benefits but "we" when talking about the downsides). Soon Luna had enough of Celestias new stance on life and tried to overthrow her, she lost. After her grave loss she was sent on a boat, no one had ever found other islands or land then the kingdom and the east isles, which you could see from the shore of the mainland. So hope of her survival was slim, but to months later, she sent a message to the leader of the resistance saying she found a large area of land southeast from the mainland (along with a map showing its location). She instructed for the resistance to give up on the old kingdom and come to live in the new land. The trip took several weeks but eventually they made it to the Lunar lands as they were calling it. After a few years, with guidance from Luna, they built an entire city just on the shore of the continent, and called it the capital of the Lunar Empire, but Luna didn't like the idea of an "Empire" she thought they should come up with a new idea. This new idea wouldn't give any one man, woman, prince, or her biggest worry princess, to much power. She decided on a system where everyone has at least a little power on every decision made, and that whatever that majority wanted was what happened. Everyone renamed the continent "The Lunar States" LS for short.
