Sunday. Four days after the news I was going to capture Peter Pan.
That very day I was going to be dropped off at the island, and I must admit, I was pretty nervous.I had all morning to get myself ready, say goodbye, and do whatever I needed to do in the ship before leaving for quite a time.
Hell, it was a hard thing to say goodbye to Skandar and Elwin. I would miss them a lot. How much would it take me to capture Pan, anyways? Everything could go pretty easy, or extremely hard and take me months to do it.
Anyways, I was the Grace Quisling. I was going to make it somehow and I was still going to go back to my loved ones, so why care? Because I care. Stupid feelings.I came out of my cabin and looked around the ship for Skandar. He was sitting on the plank, staring at the island.

"Hey." I said, sitting down next to him."Hey." He answered, still keeping his stare on the island.
"So... I'm leaving today. And–"
"When are you leaving?"
"After lunch." I answered. He didn't move. "Skandar– please don't turn cold right now. I'll come back. And we have to take advantage of the time we have left together."
"Yeah, but who knows when you will come back? It make take you months. And who knows what that Pan is capable of."
"Skandar. He can't do anything to me. We both know I'd beat him with my dagger anytime."
"What about his stupid lost boys? They could find out you're a pirate any minute and tell him. He would come up to you at night and take out his dagger and–"
I stretched my arms out and have him a tight hug.
"Skandar." I said softly, pulling away. "You're worried. There's something you're not telling me."
"It's just that– I know this guy. I've read about him. I've heard his stories. He enchants girls. He makes them have fun– he's like a siren. Lures you away, with fun... what if– what if you don't decide to come back? What if you like being a lost girl so much you refuse to come back to us?"
"Are you serious!?" I laughed. "Skandar! How could you think such thing?"
"I'm not joking, Grace. He's your age. You were already obsessed with him when you were little–"
"I told you I don't like talking about that."
"But you are going to have to face him now!" He said, his voice rising.
"I never faced him!" I shouted. "He abandoned me, you know! All I got was a glimpse of his stupid hair!"
"Well now you will see him fully, so– lucky you!"
"Yeah, lucky me 'cause I won't have to see your face for a month!" I stood up pushing him harshly and stomped away. Stupid Skandar. Every time– every time something emotional happens he gets like this– annoying– and then we fight and... Ugh. Just today. The day I was not seeing him again for who-knows-how-long we had to fight. The last time I was seeing him– my last memory– would be an angry Skandar who only cares about himself.
I kept walking away and decided to go to Hook's office. I wanted to leave. Now.
"Captain!" I called. "Hey! Hook!"
Hook opened the door from his cabin.
"What is it Grace? I'm quite busy–"
"I want to leave. I need my dress, my dagger, a boat, and get the hell out of this ship."
Hook sighed. "What happened, Grace?"
"Nothing. Call Smee. Tell him to get the boat ready. I'll go change."
I was about to leave when Hook held my arm.
"Grace, sit down. Was it Skandar?"
"He's... simply upset because I'm leaving. It's nothing special. He'll get better and then he'll be friends with me again except that I won't be there and then he'd miss me..." I trailed off.
"Grace, Grace, Grace. Why don't we do something? You go and mend things with Skandar, and I'll get your boat ready before you two can get in another fight. Deal?"
I doubted for a moment.... But maybe that was the best option.
"...deal."I got out of the cabin, closing the door behind me. I needed to see Elwin first. I kept walking down the hall until I bumped into someone. Skandar.
Our eyes met– and after a brief pause of just looking at each other I wrapped my arms around him to give him the tightest hug.
"I'm sorry Skandar. I don't want my last memory of you to be a negative one." I said.
"Hey, Grace," he chuckled. "At least it's not goodbye forever."
"You finally learnt." I hugged him tighter. "But I'm leaving sooner. It's better form the both of us. In case... We fight again."
"Oh. Okay." Said Skandar, pulling away. "C'mon, then. We better get you ready before your big mission."
I smiled at him. How lucky I was to have a friend like Skandar.
