*A week earlier*
Willow angrily put down her book. "WHO BURNT THE TOAST THIS TIME!?" she shouted from her room as a smell of burning wafted into her bedroom. The only reply was the fire alarm sounding. Willow grunts angrily, slamming the book down on the bed and making her way towards the door. she opens it.
Suddenly a giant cloud of smoke burst in and Willow was quick to slam the door. A wave of panic washed over her as she does the thing she was always taught not to do. She runs to her wardrobe, grabs a bag and starts shoving in all her precious items: her photos, letters, phone, phone charger etc..
The smoke was filling up her room quickly, realising she had to get out she tried opening the window. But it wouldn't budge. She tried again but harder, it still wouldn't move. She drops the bag and looks around the room urgently for something sharp. She started to feel faint as smoke started filling up her lungs, her weariness was working as a advantage because it finally knocked some sense into her. She started calling for help.
"NATALIE! HELP! HELP ME!" She screams at the top of her lungs only filling them up more. She starts to cough which only made things worse.
Something caught her eye, the curtain rail. She quickly climbed on her window seal and started hanging from it, trying to pull it down so she could smash the window open. Without warning it broke from the wall and came crashing down as well as willow. But she got up straight away knowing she might not survive if she wasted anymore time. She lifted up the pole and started running at the window with it. Feeling drained, she continued this a few more times lucky to still be standing.
At the spur of the moment the sound of smashed glass filled her ears. She didn't even hesitate to jump.
*present day*
"no." Willow snaps crossing her arms.
"Well I expect you have a better solution, do you?" Her social worker says sighing sitting down next to her.
Willow doesn't reply.
"I'm not sending you to a prison am I? Its the same place as you went just somewhere different and with new people" she said attempting to be reassuring.
Willow gave her a strange look "Racheal, How are you a social worker? That sucked."
She just ignored her comment " We will get your phone replaced and anything else you claimed to have lost!" she said trying to give her a comforting smile. This only made Willow frown.
"What about all the pictures? The only memories I ever had of my parents? WHAT ABOUT THOSE? WHAT ABOUT THE BEAR SHE GAVE ME WHEN SHE LEFT ME? WHAT ABOUT THOSE, HUH?" she shouted, grabbing her crutches and standing up as she let a tear race down her cold cheeks.
"Willow, calm down. You know we cant do anything about those. Don't over think it will only make you get stressed more." she said reaching out and took Willows hand trying to sit her back down.
Willow just scoffed at this and pulled away her hand "So you want me to forget? Forget my parents?" she looked around angrily " how are you even allowed to be in the same room as me?" she hisses at her. She saw the toilet sign and slowly headed towards it, she was still getting used to the crutches.
"No... that's not what I meant...WILLOW, where are you going?" she says quickly getting up and following her.
"toilet, can I not even go to the toilet without you getting in the way?" she turns round to shout at her.
"oh right yeah you can go." she said turning back around to sit down.
Willow walks into the toilets and slams the seat down and sits on it. Im not going to let this get to me. Im not going to be the sad new girl coming into a orphanage. Ill make sure they know not to mess with me and leave me alone. I will do this alone, I don't need anybody's stupid help. Especially that Racheal girl who don't know what she's doing. I got this. Willow thought to herself. She walks out and looks in the mirror. I look a mess. She dries her eyes and walks out of the toilets.
"just take me there I don't care, as long as you don't speak to me again." she mumbles angrily to her social worker. Racheal just nodded and gestured for her to follow her.
