Chapter 7

Sidney's p.o.v.

We were walking down the well lit corridor for about thirty minutes when he turned and asked for a recap of the mission we were one. After I explained for about the one millionth time and a half, he finally understood. "We are on a trip to the south wing to fetch the machine, what we are going to name the E . P . T. short for elemental power transmitter. This will make us the most powerful beings ever known. Whe might come in contact with quite an amount of resistance from the guards but with your powers combined with mine, we will blow through it with ease. Right now were at the intersection of the sky deck that goes from the north to the east wing. The west wing should that way.". I said pointing in a specific direction. "The way this building is set up almost like a cross or a "t", except for the lobby where we are now, it's like a square with rectangles pointing off each side. Even though the south wing is slightly bigger, it still won't be easy to maneuver through. So we will go to the south wing at night most likely when the guards are not on duty." "I guess the lobby is our hangout for right now then?" said Sam. "Yes, well sort of, the leader, a.k.a the man we just killed back there, usually calls for a meeting in the lobby at around 2:00 p.m. so when the seeths arrive, and he doesn't..............they will most likely storm the complex on the look for him. I think I have a pla-" I said just as a seeth guard walked into the lobby to the receptionists desk. "Shit I forgot about the receptionist!". "So basically this means that we are caught?". Said Sam. "Not if we run now..... on the count of three......THREE!!!" I said clearly catching Sam off guard leaving him behind. "COME ON SAM!!!" I screamed. he struggled to his feet and sprinted just as the gaurd noticed what the scene was, he pulled out a gun and shot at Sam. The bullet came wiz zing after Sams head, Sam looked at the bullet and looked at me. Now was the time to test my powers. I quickly stepped forward and froze the air in the vacinity of sams head making a kind of force field. As the bullet hit the ice there was a shattering sound followed by a horrible thud seconds later.

I opened my eyes half expecting to see Sam in a lifeless heap but resolved to the fact that the bullet had bounced off the ice and hit the gaurd. Before we had time to think, reflex snapped into action and we ran right past the guards dead body and past the receptionist who also happened to be a seeth, and fled down the sky deck to the south wing.

~1 hour later~

When we ran out of sight from the lobby it didn't take that much longer to find out we set off the alarm. Soon we were being surrounded by guards, they flanked us on either side making a large smelly, ugly barrier. With one look at Sam I knew we had the same idea, he grabbed my arm just to make sure I knew by heating his hands to an extreme heat. I soon did the same by freezing my hands over. "Now!" I said. We both lifted our hands and shot blast of heat and then cold. One side we heard screams and sizzling, and in the other side we heard muffled screams and the sound of ice freezing over an object. We didn't even look to see the damage, we just ran again trying to get to the E . P . T. and not get killed. "So I guess this is our plan? Running and fighting until we get to machine?" "Yes this is our plan, so far it's worked because were half way to the machine." I said with a half smirk but didn't really pull it off, because were running so fast. "Lets stop in this room.". Sam said pointing to a room right beside us. We walked to the door and listened through the wood. "Master is dead?! Who did it?!" Asked the leader gaurd. "I think it was those two children who escaped, you know the conduits?" said one gaurd. afyer a while of listening to the ongoing argument we finally decided to step into action. "I have an idea, I'll slide my hand under the door and freeze the floor into a miniature ice rink. When I do that we slam the door open and your gonna burn them outta there, okay?". I said. "Got it, lets go." Said Sam.

Sams p.o.v

Sid slowly slid her hand into the gap between the floor and the bottom of the door. She looked and me, took a deep breath, and then gave it all she had. There was a loud sound of crackling ice, but the plan was to make them fall and catch them off gaurd, but it froze their feet over also. When I busted through the door I saw them standing, their feet frozen to the floor. They already had their guns drawn and they were ready to shoot. I was almost hit by a bullet but I dodged just in time. I surprised myself when I sent a wave of heat throughout the room burning the skin from the bone of every living thing there. "So that would be two powers that I have discovered in one day.". I said a little to loud. "You have discovered how many powers?". Sid asked. "Umm none, why?" I said. "I heard what you said and I know that you have found two powers, now what are the powers Sam, I need to know so we aren't doing this for nothing. If you have the powers you need then you don't need the E . P . T Sam!". "Fine here they are." I said reluctantly. I showed the first one first sending a wave of heat through the room, catching the table on fire. Sid sent a ball of water on the flame putting it out with ease. "Now, the second?". I looked at her then closed my eyes, I felt the energy start to well up inside of me then it flowed right to my hands, and then I created a ball of pure death. Without launching it, I looked at Sid and saw fright in her eyes. "Sam....why didn't you tell me.". "What?" I asked scared. "Your....teansforming into.....a seeth somehow. We have to get the E . P . T...... now!" Said Sid in an alarming tone. Then we turned and sprinted out of the room without a break, now were on a time trial, to keep me from becoming a monster.
