Chapter 9 - Poison Ivy

My eyes open to see bright, green vines spiralling across the ceiling and walls.

"So where did your man go?" A voice says.
I shoot up and see the same woman I saw before I knocked myself out.
"Hey, aren't you that plant lady Poison Oaky?" I questioned.
"Ivy! Poison Ivy!" She corrected me, frowning.
"Sorry!!" I exclaimed, "Harley Quinn, nice to meet ya!"
I held out my hand ready for her to shake but she just frowned at me.

"So where did your man go?" She asked again.
I crossed my arms, "how do you know I have a man?"
"I watched you go into the building. The whole plan was a disaster from the beginning."
"Why were you watching us?" I exclaimed.
"To save you," she lifts my chin up, "always getting yourself in trouble for that foolish man."
I slap her hand away, "Mr J isn't like that!"
"Well, if you insist" she replies.
She stays silent whilst watering a small plant.
"I can take you to him."
My eyes glisten and my cheeks perk up into a beaming smile, "you would do that?!'
She slowly nods and turns to the door, " you coming then?'

As we walk through the dark night, lights lightly flickering, I can't help to wonder about the woman in front of me. Why did she save me? Why is she helping me in the first place?

"So lady...'
"What now?" She sighed.
"What's up with trying to help me?" I questioned.
There was a long silence. I rushed in front of her and tilted my head, "do you not have an answer?"
She rolled her bright eyes, "you're interesting. That's all."
I was confused but who cares anyway?

Suddenly, she tightly grabbed my hand and pulled me to one side.
"Hey, whatcha trying to-"
She put her hand over my mouth and I tried to struggle.
"Harley please shut up! There are police" she whispered as she finally let go.
"What do you mean police? Where are you trying to take me?"
I looked around the corner and my eyes widened, "puddin?"
Two dark shadows were on top of the building, Batman and Mr J.
"We have to help him!" I cried, Poison Ivy nods as she follows after me.

I try to catch my breath as we run up many flights of stairs. We reach the top and I shout out "puddin!!"
Out of nowhere, a hand raises above me and suddenly slaps me across the face. I fall to the floor, I was stunned. Did Mr J just hit me...?
I look up and his face was dark with no malicious smile, "you're late."
My eyes start to fill with tears, I can't believe he just did that. Poison Ivy! I turn around and she is gone.
