Oliver
"Are you joking?" I splutter, not being as proffesional with my boss as I probably should be. She raises her eyebrows at me and settles her hands back on her piece of paper that's on her desk. She shakes her head sternly at me and leans back in her chair.
"Look ,Agent Walker I know that you may not see it like we do because you are only fifteen and incredibly young but heres the long and short of it. This girl is dangerous, kill her or we fire you," Agent Black snaps at me quickly, her face tightening up and her mouth forming a straight line.
I open my mouth to protest but she holds up a long slender finger and silences me.
"Walker you need to buck your ideas up because I don't know who you think you are but-" The tall well built man who is sat at a desk in the corner speaks up for the first time of the meeting.
Agent Black clears her throat to cut him off and the man settles himself back down at the desk.
"Mr White, I know that you know me. I am by far the best teenage spy that you have in this whole agency and I know you need me. So I suggest you just let me get this girl the way I want and the way I know will work," I say to Mr White, walking over to his desk.
"Agent Walker I will thank you not to be rude to your supiriors," Agent Black shouts banging her hands down on the table.
"Yeah whatever, I'll call you when she's dead," I sigh, grabbing my jacket from the floor and walking out of GCHQ head office dissmissivley.
As I make my way down to the foye in the lift my fists start to ball up and I realise how angry I actually am. The girls at school are okay, there is Abigail, Rosie and all their friends and then there is Violet, Cressida and Alexandra, all of whom are very pretty and would satisfy any other guy at my school but not me. Maddie Taylor is different. She's interesting and mysterious and now I have to kill her. The perks of being a spy.
The lift doors slide open and I walk straight out of the building. Not stopping until I see my school. Oak Valley Academy. It sounds so posh and stuck up, the school is and so are most of the pupils but I'm not.
As I walk up the gravel driveway, against the flow of the end of school traffic I see her just exiting the main entrance and I watch her. She is chatting to a girl I don't recognise and they laugh every now and again. If I had emotions, my heart would bleed at the thought of killing her. But of course emotions are for normal people.
When I reach her, I shoot her a smile. She says goodbye to her friend and then comes over to me.
"Oliver," She smiles at me.
"Maddie," I say back, studying her face.
She hitches her back pack up on her shoulder and the glitter almost blinds me. She does not seem to be the kind of girl that would be a spy but whatever Agent Black tells me, I have to do. There are these things called contracts and I have one.
"Where are you off to then?" She asks cheerily as we dodge more students.
"Well funny you should ask that Mads, I was coming to find you," I say cheekily.
Her mouth forms an O shape and she looks confused so I continue.
"I was wondering of you wanted to come to the cafe down the road with me?" I ask.
She nods.
"That would be lovely," She shifts from foot to foot and hitches up her back pack again.
I hold out my arm and she links her through it. We join the flow of students and make our way down to town for a hot chocolate.
She smiles at me every now and again. Wow this is going to be harder than I thought.
