27.Rise And Shine

Mark is woken up by light shaking. He opens his eyes and sees Jeno on his side. "Morning"Jeno whispers. Mark sits up and stretches his arms out. Looking out the window, he sees its dark outside.

"Im sorry to wake you, I just couldn't stay up any longer"Jeno whispers and Mark nods. "Its okay"Mark says and Jeno hands him the gun, "sleep well". Jeno nods and he takes Marks bed while Mark sits in the middle of the dim room.

He looks around at all of his sleeping friends and he lets his mind wonder a bit. Why do they all look up to him? He is older yes, but is he mentally stronger than any of them? He risked getting into a fight with Jain but maybe a few minutes later if he didn't, someone else might have.

Mark lets out a sigh. "Hyung"he hears in a soft voice behind him. Turning around, he sees Jisung sitting upright and rubbing his eyes. Mark swiftly and quietly moves over to his bed and sits down. "You should sleep"Mark whispers.

"I cant. Everytime I close my eyes I only see Jain"Jisung says and hangs his head. Mark brings Jisung in close and hugs him. "Its over now"Mark whispers. Hes said that so many times today it's starting to become a habit.

"But what if it only get worse?"Jisung says and Mark breaks the hug. Mark makes Jisung look at him and he whispers, "no one will ever touch you. I promise. They will have to go through me first". Jisung nods slightly.

Suddenly a loud boom hits the door and it jolts everyone awake. "What was that?"Jaemin asks in a scared voice. They hear the sound again and it shakes the whole cabin.

"Are they trying to get it?"Haechan asks. Mark stands up and rushes to the bunckbeds holding the door back. The boom happens again and it jolts the door open a little and moves two bunckbeds. "Crap"Mark says. Haechan then rushes to Marks side and holds down the door with him.

"What do you want?!?"Mark yells. "The boy"They hear from outside. Everyone looks at Jisung and Mark yells back, "over my dead body".

The sound goes again and the door opens wider. Haechan and Mark stand back and Mark grabs his gun from his side. He stands infront of everyone with the gun pointing towards the door.

One last shake and the door flies open and the bunckbeds go to the side of the room. One instructor steps in and notices Marks gun. "Oh my god"the instructor says and holds everyone back. "Back up slowly or I'll shoot you"Mark says. The instructors in the back start talking to each other in little mumbles.

"Okay okay. But you will have to run out of bullets eventually"the head instructor says and they all slowly back away. Mark walks up to the door and slams it shut. Sliding to the floor, he lets out a long sigh. "Youre so brave"Renjun says and Mark smirks. "Thanks"Mark says.

"That should hold us for the night. Two should stay up now just incase"Jeno says. Everyone nods in agreement. They all vote Jeno and Mark to stay up and the rest try to go back to sleep.

Jeno sits beside Mark on the floor and whispers "At least it's almost over". Mark nods and whispers back, "yeah. Just a few more hours and we'll be free". The thought of getting back to there dorm fills there minds.

Being able to see there other friends made them smile slightly. Playing around with Taeyong, pulling pranks with Ten and Johnny, getting teased by Yuta. They want to go back so badly.
