Binks watched helplessly as the monster drove away, it's bright red coat shone in the sunlight. The cage he'd been locked in lay in pieces on the road around him, sharp edges cutting into his fur, it had broken when his two-legs through him from the monster's belly, the impact on the hard road had stunned him.

Blinking slowly, the main coon struggled to get onto his paws, still dazed from the fall. He'd hit his head pretty hard and the cage had shredded in his right ear and left a deep gash across his left flank, staining the white fur red as blood flowed slowly from the wound.

Taking a timid step away from the reined cage, Binks looked around, the road was surrounded by thick trees on both sides, some hanging over the road, blocking out the burning sun. a sudden roaring filling his ears and the ground began to tremble. Slowly turning his head, Binks's blood turned cold, racing towards him was another monster, much larger than the one he'd been thrown out of.

With a loud screech, Binks dashed towards the nearest side of the forest, intent on getting of the road, fear making him run faster. The monster roared past, the wind from it nearly taking him off his paws.

When the hard surface of the road turned to dirt, Binks skidded to a holt, breathing out a long sigh of relief, almost collapsing onto the ground. Looking back, Binks saw what had happened to the cage, the monster had run over it, flattening it and dragging a few pieces of it further away.

Binks staggered deeper into the forest, wincing as the pain in his flank began to intensify. A sudden wave of dizziness hit him hard, causing him to stumble and almost fall, though he'd managed to stay upright.

Taking slower steps, Binks looked around his new surroundings, the trees were tall but some low hanging branches and the undergrowth was thick and coloured with different shades of green that all blended together.

Sighing, Binks moved on, he didn't know what might be out here and he didn't really want to find out. The gash on his flank still bled but at a much slower rate, though it still hurt, badly. Taking a deep breath, Binks scented the air, there was a lot of strange scents but there was also a lot of other cat scents, though some were stale, there was a few that were fresh.

Glancing around, Binks trotted forward, limping. He'd find somewhere to rest, then worry about those cat scents, looking around the undergrowth for a good resting place, finding a deep hole beneath a large tree root. Squizzing through the narrow hole, Binks slowly curled up, the root and thick bushes created good cover for his hiding place.

Looking at his wound, Binks winced again at the sight of it, the gash ran across his left flank. Running his tongue over the wound made it sting more but it slowed the bleeding down and washed some of the blood of his fur.

When he was done, Binks turned and peaked throw the hole, holding his breath when he caught sight of a silvery-grey tabby she-cat crouched beside another tree, her back to him.

Shrinking to the back of the hole, Binks kept his eyes on the new cat, until it stood and turned to leave, small roots hanging from its moth. Its head spun around, green eyes looking throw the undergrowth, searching. When it didn't find what it was looking for, the cat shrugged and limped away. her hind leg was twisted and scared, causing the limp.

Sighing again, Binks curled his thick white tail around his body and rested his head on his paws. Colours blurred together as another gave of dizziness washed over him, breathing deeply, Binks closed his eyes, hoping to fall asleep, and as he thought of what happened on the road, he slowly drifted into consciousness.
