Chapter 42

Jack stood up an readied his staff. Merida and North held their weapons tight. Sandy glared at where the laugh had come from. Tooth fluttered next to Jack.

"So you're all gathered here." Pitch laughed.

"Yeah! To defeat you!" Jack said angrily. Pitch laughed even more. The nightmares all stood still above them. Pitch appeared in the middle.

"Now that I've got you all here-" Pitch began.

"I always knew you liked being the centre of attention." Merida said. She tightened her bow. Pitch sneered at her.

"Shut it." He said. Merida jumped over the table. "I wanted you here because it's my least favourite people all in the one place. This way it'll be easier to get rid of all of you."

"Good luck with that." Jack said snidely. Hiccup stood up.

"None of you can stop me." Pitch said.

"I might not be, but I'm sure a nightfury can." Hiccup said. Pitch turned to look at him.

"Night fury?" He gasped. "But they aren't real."

"Well this one sure is." Hiccup said. Suddenly Toothless pounced from behind Hiccup and landed in front of him. He shot and it pierced Pitch. He gasped in pain. He fell to the ground. Suddenly all the nightmares flew around. They headed for Toothless. He shot them. They exploded. Jack ran to Pitch. Pitch coughed.

"At least I got one of you." Pitch laughed.

"See, the thing about rabbits are that it's kind of hard to kill them." Jack said. Pitch smiled.

"Who said it was a rabbit?" He asked. Suddenly a scream came from the room that Bunnymund and Rapunzel were in. They all turned. Suddenly a gasp came from Pitch. He held his hand to his mouth. "Oh, it seems that 'Punzy' is- no more."

"No." Jack uttered.

"Yes!" Pitch laughed. He disappeared. Jack ran to the room they were in. All the nightmares swarmed Pitch. They flew off leaving no sign of Pitch. Jack ran to into the room. What he saw he would never forget.
