Chapter 22: The Meeting

"D-dad? I-I thought you were dead..." I said, stuttering as tears formed in my eyes. "I thought so too, my boy, but there was an agreement. That's why we live on this island." He said as he looked around, admiring his home. Then, one of the guards that was in front of the entrance ran up to us. "Sir," he started to say. "We got a message from the Wyverns. They said that they're declaring a war on our land." "What? Why would they do that?" My father asked. I looked towards the guard. "We don't know, sir. But they said they'll be here any minute. What shall we do?" The guard stood tall with his head held high. "Set up defenses around the village. Have a team evacuate the villagers to the safe house. I had a feeling this day would come. Son, you're with me. We'll fight them." I looked at my father, and slowly nodded. We both walked out, and while my father waited, I helped with the evacuation. After about 3 hours, the evacuation was finished. I ran back to my dad with about 10 soldiers. When we arrived, we were relieved to see that the enemy hasn't arrived yet. My dad was sitting there with a smile on his face. "I'm excited to see how strong you've become, my boy. It has been a while." He said, putting his foot on my head. We waited for about 5 hours, then, we heard the flapping of wings. "They're here..." I heard my father say under his breath. I pulled out my swords and got into my stance. The others did the same, and I saw the Wyverns land. Two of them looked about my age, and had human-like features to them. One was a male, and the other was a female. The male used a double edged sword, while the female didn't seem to use a weapon. As I payed attention to them, I noticed there were about 700 more of them. They all looked like normal Wyverns, the only ones standing out were the two that I noticed first. I saw one that wore armor, and because no other Wyvern did, I assumed he was the leader. He looked towards us, then looked at the two hybrids. He then pointed at me as he looked at them. "You two will fight him. I feel like you'll have fun with him." I heard him say. They then stepped forward, while the others stayed where they were. The two looked at me, and made a motion with their head to signal me to follow them, than took off. I looked at my dad, and he nodded, wanting me to go with them. "They don't want any interference. Go with them." He said. He kept his stare towards the army as I flew after them. I followed them to an island not too far away from the one with my father. "Before we battle, let us introduce ourselves." The female said, stepping forward. "Hey, I thought I was the one who would introduce us to the audience!" The male said. The female slapped him in the back of the head, sending him flying into a tree nearby. "None of that." The female said. The male pulled his head out of the tree, with no scars to be seen on his body. "As I was saying, I will introduce ourselves." She said, staring towards me.
