When we had made it over to the tents I could hear a heated discussion going on about the height of the tent. Hunter was telling Eric it was not high enough and Eric was saying he could just bend over and deal with it. When we rounded the corner it looked like Hunter was about to rip Eric's head off and Alex looked half asleep on a bench nearby.
"What is going on?" I asked. They both turned and Hunter pulled me to his side once I was within reach.
"Eric is convinced that we can't get the taller tent," Hunter grumbled.
"Eric?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
"He wants the one that only comes in black! I wanted to get the blue ones!" Eric said pointing at the different tents.
I walked over and looked at them, they were all the same brand and even had some special part you could buy to connect them.
"Why don't we get the black one and the blue one and we can get one of these connecter things?" I asked them.
"We can sleep in the blue one and change in the black one, then it won't be an issue for when we need to be able to stand at full height," Rob said stepping in.
"Fine, but they won't really match," Eric said pouting as Hunter hauled the tents into the cart.
I looked at the nearly full carts and saw there was also a tall tent like thing with nets on the sides. The picture showed people on a picnic table inside of it eating corn on the cob and smiling.
"Time to find sleeping bags and cots!" Eric yelled as he changed moods and started to run in a different direction. I jumped with his quick change and watched with wide eyes as he ran towards the sign that said sleeping bags and bedding. Alex followed with the empty cart and Hunter shook his head, turning toward the check out with his overflowing cart. Rob turned and followed Hunter, I quickly ran after Alex.
"We should get these ones!" Eric exclaimed as he pointed at a sleeping bag. I looked at the front of the box, it said it was a mummy style sleeping bag. I scrunched my nose up, I loved feeling warm and wrapped up but it was also nice to have room to move. These bags looked like you would not have any room to move, all I could think about was how Hunter would be squished like a sausage in that.
"How about these?" Alex said pointing out some normal looking sleeping bags. These ones had a picture showing a brown and plaid material. It also had a few different sizes around for that style.
"Those look nice, I think we should get those." I said starting to pull one off the shelf before Eric could say no.
"Those don't look as cool," Eric pouted.
"If you want the mummy one then get that one, they just don't look like they give you much space to sleep and move around in at night," I said. I don't think he had considered the space much because he eventually gave in and said he would go with the one Alex found.
"I need to go get a few clothing items and some boots. Lilly, come with me to help me," Eric said. He grabbed my hand and pulled me after him. I waved to Alex as he steered the cart around to the check out. I now understood why we really needed the two cars, I would be surprised if there was any room for us left.
"Rob had you pick stuff out already?" Eric asked. I nodded and Eric frowned slightly.
"What do you all need?" I asked before he could get anything else for me to wear. We would only be gone for a few days but you would think we were leaving for a month with how much stuff we were getting.
