Ella's POV

Blurred images filled my vision, slowly focusing to reveal me lying in bed in an unfamiliar room. I shot up, nervously scanning the room as I heard footsteps in the hallway. The door opened to reveal a tired looking Ricky. He smiled as he walked over to me, sitting down next to me on the bed. He wrapped me in his arms as I felt tears spill down my face as the memories of last night came flooding back. He was going to rape me.

And Ricky stopped him.

I sniffled, looking up into those gorgeous blue eyes, filled with kindness and sincerity. He smiled down at me, and I couldn't describe the sensation as anything else except my breath being taken away. He was gorgeous, I had to give him that.

"You're my hero." I breathed, causing him to chuckle. He bent down and placed a soft kiss to my forehead before helping me up off the bed. After he made sure I could walk on my shaky legs, he looked at me.

"Hey, a pretty girl needed saving. It would've been a crime not to help you out." I blushed again at his compliment before he lead me down the stairs and into the kitchen, where the rest of the guys were seated at a round table. The place was fucking trashed, and there were still a couple of people stumbling out the front door.

The smell of coffee wafted through the air, making me smile. Brandon placed a steaming cup in front of me, and I gratefully took it, sipping slowly at the hot liquid. I felt Ricky staring at me again, but this time I actually caught his eye, smiling back. He blushed before looking down at his shoes. The guys all traded glances with each other, clearly trying to smuggle their giggles, as Ricky threw them a 'shut the fuck up' look.

What was that all about? Weird.

Rickys POV

She was so beautiful. As I stood there, watching her lean against the wall, sipping her coffee quietly, I could've sworn that my cold, dead heart actually started beating again. This was a new sensation that I hadn't felt in a while. All the other girls I had ever loved always left me for bigger, better vampires... I couldn't risk getting hurt with Ella again, despite the undeniable attraction I felt towards her. I simply had to get to know her better.

A bit of small talk and another cup of coffee later and she had to leave. She had said something about wanting to find a job, and I guess she was going to see who was hiring. I watched her walk out the door, smiling to myself as I imagined me holding her petite hand in mine, laughing with her and holding her....

I was yanked away from my thoughts as I heard loud laughter behind me.

"Man, Ricky's got it bad, you guys!" I heard Chris yell, the others laughing with him. I blushed, looking over to Ghost who was just giving me another knowing, thoughtful smile. I just shrugged them off, telling them to shut the fuck up before I changed the topic of conversation to something that wouldn't completely embarrass me.
