Let me tell you a story, about a fandom that cared to much and a show with a cruel streak.
In the Supernatural fandom, we have many different people. From artists to writers to philosophers to rebloggers, we have them all.
Yet, even though the people in the fandom fight, and there are hard times caused by the show, we still pull together when we need to. Like in season nine, episode nine... "Holy Terror."
This was the kind of episode that was unexpectedly difficult to accept. Many people went into the episode expecting a cliffhanger, afterall, it was the mid-season finale. But many people did not expect what happened.
The death of Kevin Tran, prophet of the Lord, advanced placement hit many people hard, because Kevin was the type of character you though could never die. He was the favorite of the fandom and no one believed the writers would dare kill him off. But they did.
Now, I don't know if Kevin comes back later, or if he is still part of the show, but many people agree that Kevin Tan's story is unfinished.
Osric Chau did a fabulous job of taking a small character role and making it have a lasting effect on the viewers. He made us feel close to his character, and proved that sometimes, casting really is perfect. Osric is Kevin, and Kevin is Osric.
So, on behalf of the fandom, I would like to thank Osric for his beautiful portrayal of Kevin Tran, prophet of the Lord, advanced placement. I hope to see you on the show when it comes back in January.
