A long time ago, in Berlin, Germany, a little girl was born. Her name is Skylar Qwanovich (gua-on-oh-vich). Her mother died giving birth to her, and her father was in war at the time. After a while, she found out that he died while fighting when she was only five years old. So, she lived with her aunt Josephine until she went to college in 1992. But this is her story.
I never really had parents, both of them died when I was little. Too long ago to even remember them. So, I lived with my aunt Josephine, my mother's sister. I was considered her daughter to most people, even her, and I felt that way, too. She looked just like my mother, especially comparing them in old pictures I had seen of them. I thought that they could of been twins, and sometimes, I wonder if my aunt is my mother. All the stories I have heard of my mother sound so similar to the discription of Aunt Josephine.
I found a picture of a little girl who looked just like me, but it wasn't me. She had fine black hair, blue eyes, a nice smile, alright skin, and a perfect body. Where as I have rough black hair, blue eyes, braces to fix my crooked smile, alright skin, and a nice body of my own. I have asked my aunt about this little girl and she never answers me, and she hasn't. So, I plan on doing research, and trying to found out as much as I can. Why else would my aunt be so quiet, if it wasn't for a reason?
At twenty-two years of age, I already had a PhD, doctor's degree, medical degree, and a teaching's degree.
Two years later, I'm twenty-four years old, and I'm dating a handsome young fellow for three years now, if I do say so myself, and his name is Richard. Tonight, he's taking me somewhere, a date, which he said is a surprise. My friend Lee is here, all anxious to help me get ready for tonight. She was acting strange all of a sudden, and I wanted to know why.
Thirty minutes after I got ready (thanks to Lee), there was a limo outside my house.
"This can't be for me," I said.
"Well, it is for you," Lee replied.
"Alrighty, well, lets go get in."
"No, I'm not going, you and Richard should have tonight to yourselves," she rejected.
"But, you can always go with us to dinner!" I said.
"No, not tonight, now go!"
"Okay, okay, bye!" I said, waving out the door.
By the time we got to the resturaunt, full of beautiful decorations and delishious smelling food, it surprised me of how romantic it was, and it was all Richard's doing. Right after seeing it, I knew what his plan was, to propose. A smile came across my face.
After the lovely dinner, I went to the restroom to fix myself and be presentable. I spent about fifteen minutes in there, trying to look perfect for him, but it didn't work. Leaving without success, I realized the waiters had changed their regular uniforms into tuxes, and they were surronding a man---my Richard.
"Darling, what is all of this?" I asked.
Right before I could blink, he was down on one knee, and he was smiling, but nervous, and opened the tiny little box in his hand which held a beautiful diamond ring. It must've cost him a fortune, and he said, "Skylar, will you please do me the most amazing honor, and be my wife? WIll you marry me, and spend the rest of your life with me?"
Tears ran down my face, "Yes, Richard, I will."
He smiled even wider than I thought possible, picked me up and spun me around, and then kissed me with our audience clapping in the background---which I couldn't hear because I was too focused on this, on our moment, on Richard.
We drove home and found that Lee was still there.
"How did the date go?" asked Lee.
"It was amazing," Richard and I both said, and I blushed a little.
"Sorry I couldn't make it. I had other things to do."
"It's alright Lee---did you dress Skylar?" Richard asked.
I was a little taken back by the question, what did he mean by that? "Yes, why?" Lee asked,
"It shows. Not in a bad way, though. I mean, she never would of wore a dress if I had asked her too, because she's always wearing comfortable clothes. She looks amazing."
The response made me smile even bigger, blush even more, and gosh he was good at that.
When they got done with their conversation (about me and my fashion style), Lee went home while Richard and I went inside because it was about to rain. He went straight to my bed room and went to sleep, where as I went to the couch, ate some buttery popcorn, and watching Perks of Being a Wallflower. I must've fell asleep on the couch because that's where I ended up being in the morning.
When I was fully awake, I went into the kitchen and made some cofee and breakfast. I called Richard down to eat, thinking to myself how I wasn't hungry, which was a first because I absolutely love food. Maybe I was possibly...could I be...pregnant? There was only one night but...
