[Ash/Ashton] "Why do we have to walk?" Jaden shouted from behind me. "I get that it's close but still, why couldn't someone drive us?"
"My parents would be the only ones who could drive us" I said. "But they're both at work still."
"That sucks" Hunter said. "At least we're almost there. Also, you guys don't have to carry a mellophone!!" She glared back at Jaden and I.
"Good point" I said. Jaden turned to look at me.
"Out of the three of us, you're probably the luckiest" she said. "You have the lightest instrument out of all of us."
"True" I said. I then breathed a sigh of relief, we finally made it to the high school. "We're here!! Finally."
"Why is the first day a four hour practice" Hunter whined. "I'm already tired and we haven't even gotten to the band room."
"I forget, what's the band name again" Jaden asked.
"The Westminster Marching Warriors" I said. "I haven't seen the uniforms yet but I've heard things about them. All I know is that female uniforms and male uniforms are different. As are woodwind and brass uniforms, and drumline and pit, but they have the same unifroms."
"So the only people out of the three of us who will look the same are me and Ash" Jaden said. "Sorry Hunter."
"It's fine" she said. "Let's just hurry up and get to the band room so I can put this thing in my band locker."
We got to the band room and the first thing we saw was people. A lot of people. There were signs on the wall that said our instruments with groups of people by them. I found clarinet and walked over to it. There were about a dozen girls and one guy.
"Hi" someone said next to me. "I'm Jackie, the clarinet section leader. You are?"
"Ash" I said, smiling, still slightly out of breath. "Sorry, I just walked here with my friends, I'm a little winded."
"It's fine" she said. She was a medium height with blonde hair and a bubbly personality. "Now that everyone's here, we can introduce ourselves. CLARINETS! FORM A CIRCLE!"
After a few moments, the baker's dozen of us were sitting in a circle in a corner of the band room. "Okay" Jackie said. "We'll go in a circle and say our names, grade, and . . . favourite animal. Okay?" We all nodded. "I'll go first. I'm Jackie, I'm a junior, and my favourite animal is, a dog. Also, the animal can be fictional or real, it really doesn't matter." We all nodded.
"Alright" said the girl next to her. "I'm Hannah, I'm a freshman, and my favourite animal is a leopard."
"I'm Marissa" said the girl next to her. "I'm a junior, and my favourite animal is a fox."
"My name is Juliette" said the girl between me and Marissa. "I'm a sophomore and my favourite animal is a unicorn."
"I'm Ashton" I said. "I'm a freshman and my favourite animal is a wolf."
"My name is Morgan" said the girl to my right. "I'm a junior and my favourite animal is a cat."
"My name is Jon" said the guy next to her. "I'm a sophomore and my favourite animal is a snow leopard."
"My name is Adabelle" said the girl next to him. "I'm a senior and my favourite animal is a panda."
"I'm Danielle" said the girl next to her. "I'm a freshman and my favourite animal is an owl."
"I'm Harley" said the girl next to her. "I'm a senior and my favourite animal is a pegasus."
"My name is Taylor" said the girl next to her. "I'm a freshman and my favourite animal is a butterfly."
