It's a Date

"Alright I'm, getting up!" I threw my phone on my bed and hopped in the shower.

It's been four days since I met Cody, but since then I haven't seen him. I sure have thought about him a lot though. He's been constantly on my mind that I really haven't thought about you-know-who as much as I usually do. I should get an award for that. Or Cody should for making me forget. Today I have decided to find him and talked to him again. I talked to Helen about it and she said she'll come with me, so I guess that is a bonus.

"ELLIE!"

"I'm getting dressed Helen! I'm not ditching school, don't worry!" I laughed.

I came out of my bathroom wearing a long purple sequin shirt and the black jeggings Helen bought me. I had my hair in the same way I left it when I first met Cody, in long curls. I put pink blush, dark black mascara, and pink lip gloss on for my makeup. I guess I look pretty...I guess.

"You look adorable, Ellie!" Helen smiled.

"Thanks, Helen. You look adorable yourself!"

Helen was wearing dark blue jeans, a lacy black shirt over a neon pink tank-top, and black flats. Her hair was up in a messy bun with her bangs hanging in front. She is so gorgeous and I have always been a bit jealous of her. So many guys like her, but she never goes for them. She always tells me that she will know when the right guy asks her out and she will tell them yes. I am excited for that time to come.

"Ready to go, El?"

"Yup, let me just grab my backpack and a Poptart and we can leave!"

After grabbing both of those things we jumped into her car and drove off to school. Before getting out of the car I grabbed my lip gloss, applied another coat, and then put the cap back on. Helen and I walked to the front doors and slowly made our way to the lockers.

"Ok, so we're going to try to find Cody today right?" Helen said smiley way to big.

She's been waiting to meet this guy that has been floating in my brain. "Yup. I mean I just want to talk with him because we could be great friends. I hope."

We took our books and started heading to British Literature. Right then I heard a voice saying my name. "Ellie, right?!"

I turned around to see Cody Bennett. I smiled, "Yup and Cody right?!"

"Yup, how are you? I haven't talked to you since we crashed into each other," he laughed.

"I'm great and you?"

"I'm pretty good, just enjoying this new city!"

"Well Cody, I'd like you to meet my best friend ever, Helen!" I said and pointed to Helen. "Cody, Helen. Helen, Cody."

They shook hands and exchanged greetings. I could really see us all being great friends.

"Alright well I guess we should go," I said as the bell rang.

"Ya I guess. But, wait; wanna sit by me at lunch today girls?" Cody said.

"Sure!" Helen and I said at the same time making us laugh quietly.

We said goodbye and then we ran off to British Literature. After sitting and listening about J. R. R. Tolkien, British Literature was done. Then Helen and I went to Calculus, the most boring class ever. Mr. Wimmer droned on and on about what would be on our math homework, but I was in my own world. I heard probably about 35% of what he said in Calculus today.

I was excited to sit by Cody today in lunch to get to know him better. I have really wanted to have a guy friend that I won't fall in love with, so I think he could be it. I mean I have Nate, but I know Nate doesn't like me and I for sure don't like him. Nate and I have been friends since freshman year when he told Helen and I that we look beautiful and we were really cool. The thing about Nate though is that he is a total player. He has the dark brown hair, beautiful brown eyes, drool worthy muscles and abs, and he's a major jock. He obviously has the player look and attitude, but he's super sweet to Helen and I. He knows that if he hits on us we'll punched him in the face or stomach, both painful places. I love Nate in a sibling way.
