-Chapter 10-

*Hales POV*

After Harry had left the bathroom, unanswered questions popped into my head. Questions that I wanted to know so badly, but was afraid to ask.

Like,

Why did Harry move here?

Why does he get all weird around blood?

Who shot him, and how did the intruder get into my house?

Why did he shoot Harry, and not me?

Why do Harry's eyes grow dark a whenever he's around me?

What is he.... If he's even human?

What am I thinking. If he's even human? Of course he's human. What else would he be? A alien? Wow.

But the first time I saw him... He looked familiar. I paid no attention to it... But since I can't remember anything before I was 5 of my past, I wonder if he was involved some how.

I can't believe I am thinking about this right now. If Harry had something important to tell me, he would have told me by now... Wouldn't he?

Unless he's hiding something....

What if I tried to remember... Maybe that would help?

I closed my eyes, and tried to remember the days before the accident.

The days that I can no longer recall.

I suddenly saw a picture in my head, of a little girl being attacked by... By some kind of creature.

A young boy quickly whipped her up into his arms, carrying her away.

"Big brother!?" She screamed. He held her tightly, fighting the creatures at the same time.

They were human like... But with red glowing eyes and animal like fangs, their finger nails long and sharp.

Another man showed up.

"Take her inside... To her mother. We have to do this. Promise to take care of her for us." He said to the boy, who was tearing up.

"Yes father." He said, and headed into the house.

The man was swallowed up by attacking creatures, making it impossible to see due to all the splattered blood.

The boy had carried the girl inside, and handed her to what looked like her mother.

"Thank you... I love you so much. I am so proud. Take care of her... Take care of Hale for us." She said.

The little girl was wide eyed, as she was handed to her mother. She tried to keep a hold on her brother, but had no use.

"Brother!" She screamed when he turned. "Big brother!" She cried as he walked out the door.

"Baby? Baby look at me." The woman said to the child, getting an immediate stare from the little girl.

"I'm sorry I have to do this... But it's for your own good." She said. Her head made a cracking noise, spilling blood down her face.

She hugged her daughter tightly, and then blood splattered everywhere. The scene went fuzzy.

Suddenly a huge pain grasped my head, making me fly my hands up to hold my pounding cranium.

I gritted my teeth and whimpered a bit. What was that? She had called the little girl Hale. That's my name...

More pain pounded my skull. I had to stop thinking about it. But I needed an explanation. From Harry.

What the hell was going on?

I stood up and stumbled to the kitchen, one hand holding the right side of my head.

Opening the closest drawer, I grabbed a big silver knife, and headed upstairs.

Halfway because I thought someone might break in and shoot me, and halfway not trusting Harry.

I crept up the stairs and stood in the doorway. Harry turned his head to look at me.

His green beautiful eyes suddenly made me full of rage, for all of the things that have happened to me. I couldn't control it, and for some reason, I just bursted.

"I'll ask you once more, since you're obviously lying." I said, my voice unwavering.

I stepped into the room slowly, causing Harry to stand up and eye me cautiously.

Ha. That's right. I'm scary.

I saw his arms move slightly and then he was suddenly right in front of me. What the hell? I didn't even see him move!?

I felt his hand on mine, and I felt butterflies in my stomach. Oh god..

I looked down and saw that his other hand was grasping the blade of the knife, making it cut into his skin.

He peered down at our one intwined hand, and slowly looked up at my eyes.

My eyes started to water a bit, and I had to blink quickly to get the tears to recede.

I was so frustrated at him... And everyone. I had so many questions I wanted. Now was my chance.

"How did you..." I trailed off, at a loss for words.

"Let go of the blade, Hale." He said looking me in the eyes deeply. I felt controlled, and my hand suddenly opened.

It was a weird feeling, like I had no control over my body, but I could see and feel everything that was happening.

I heard the knife hit the ground with a clatter, and I peered down at it disbelievingly.

There is no possible way he could've done that.... But... What if..

"What the hell are you!?" I screamed. "Don't lie! Just tell me!" I almost begged.

I couldn't take this anymore. Trying to guess and piece him together. I felt as if the room was spinning and closing in on me. It suddenly became hard to breathe.

I collapsed to my knees, hyperventilating. Harry kneeled down and pushed me back, making me lay down.

He pinned my shoulders and I tried to wiggle out of his grip.

"Hale". He said, but I barely paid any attention.

"No... Please don't hurt me.." I whimpered. I was so scared, for no reason.

He tried talking to me, but the room was spinning, keeping me from hearing correctly.

"Hale!" He suddenly yelled loudly. My eyes snapped to his and he took a deep breath letting it out.

"I'm a vampire." He said seriously, his eyes flashing red.

All I remember correctly at that moment, is screaming at the top of my lungs.
