Chapter I

"BELLA! GET UP, YOU'RE GOING TO BE LATE FOR CLASS!" My mom yelled at the top of her lungs. Almost forty and she still has the voice of an eighteen year old girl.

I hated school as you can see because if I didn't, I would've gotten my ass up early, taken a shower and eaten breakfast like a normal person but no, I'd much rather sleep. It's not my fault I have such a hard time falling asleep at night.

"I'm already late, so might as well not go." I mumble to myself, but I guess I was loud enough for my dad to hear me and tell me that he's waiting for me in the car. I have my own car and such but sometimes when I'm tired, I tend to not drive well.

I get up, brush my teeth and put my blonde wig on over my dark hair and my brown contacts to cover my blue eyes as usual. I put on my boots, my leather jacket with a t-shirt under and some skinny jeans and went downstairs said good morning to everyone.

I have three siblings a sister, Lilly whose now 16, a brother, Blake whose 12 (almost 13) and then there's Joseph, whose 7. Yes, they are a handful but I love them.

Sometimes.

I barely heard their replies seeing as though I was already out the door.

"You look beautiful, as usual" my dad said with a huge smile, "You're starting to look so much like your mom everyday."

I opened up the mirror that's in front of the passengers seat and started examining my face.

"Well, I mean I can sort of see it, maybe my round face, my lips." I said, smiling back at him. I love my family, they're always there for me and even with my horrible, crabby moods, they never give up on me.

And I'm pretty happy that I'm starting to look like my mom. My mother is a beautiful women with hazel eyes, black thick hair, and she's also short and thick. She could pass for a 25 year old at the age of 38.

As soon as I got to school, I heard my name being called by four different people. I looked around and it was,of course, the clan!

I mean my best friends.

Jane, tall, French and beautiful, was headed towards me first. Then followed by Jane was Brianna, the dark-toned, Italian goddess. Then it was Thea, the beautiful Greek goddess and last, but not at all least, was Iyat, the beautiful Jordanian princess.

We all got along pretty well. We don't mingle with other people. We're not social outcasts at all; we choose not to be the center of attention. We were all foreigners, including myself.

I'm Persian, my family moved to America along time ago. But unlike other foreign people who have moved to America, best friends and I are very in touch with our culture and it was interesting being so different from one another; it kept things new and refreshing.

"Did you hear what happened?!" They all said in unison as if they have been rehearsing.

"No, what?" I gave them a worried look.

"Well, you know Sawyer, the head cheerleader?" Thea said quickly.

"Well, duh, who doesn't?" I said, giving her a dumbfounded face.

"Yeah, well, she tried killing herself last night." Iyat said while her big brown, almost black eyes, started to water.
I could feel my face tense up as though I wanted to cry

I know we aren't even remotely close anymore. We used to be, all of us use to be best friends, since we were in elementary school. But ever since we got into high school she went into her own world and we stayed in ours. I can't believe Swayer actually tried killing her self. I can't believe people can be hurt or neglected to the point where they think dying is their safe haven.

I wish i was there for her right now.

My friends and I, well, we're pretty close, we've all known each other for awhile now. We've know each other's families and cousins and relatives, were kind of like a huge family. I usually see Iyat the most because her mom and my mom are best friends.

Iyat is the kind of person that would try to make you laugh and smile even if it takes her hours or days, but she doesn't give up. She's beautiful, not too tall, not too short, with long brown hair and hazel eyes.

It was finally lunch time and the five of us always meet in the choir room. Our school has private rooms for private piano, and vocal lessons. The room is soundproof and the best part is that it's quiet and no one knows where we are.

I loved that room, singing is probably one of my favorite things to do. I'm not going to tell you I've always dreamt of being a pop star because I really don't want to be. I want to sing in a small coffee shop where people are comfortable, and where it's quiet. I'm not going to lie, I'm not bad. I mean I wouldn't know because I've never really sang in front of anyone before, Not even the clan, or even my family really. But I mean, clan, family, same thing.

We all brought our own lunch and traded amongst ourselves.

"This whole sawyer thing is really killing me" Jane said after swallowing the bite she took from her turkey sandwich.

"Great choice of words Jane..." Brianna said giving her the 'think before you talk' face.

We didn't talk for a while, cause we were stuffing our faces with our lunches. That was until Thea looked at me, she really looked at me.

"Are you ready to go back Isabelle?" Thea says while looking up at me, trying to comfort me.

It took me awhile to think, to think about what I'm feeling. Or how I should feel, but I can't say what I'm feeling.

Just cause I have anxiety, doesn't mean I should pass it down to them.

"Yeah, of course, I have to be. I mean, as long as I have you guys with me I think I'll be alright. What about you guys?" I said, looking around to see them all smile, except for Brianna.

I put my tuna sandwich to the side, got up and circled my way to Brianna. I sat next to her and hugged her.

"I know it will be hard leaving Brandon behind, but I promise you he can come visit whenever he wants, and I grant you permission to tell him about our secret, I mean you guys have been dating for 4 years. I trust you Brianna, and if you trust him then I do to.." I say, smiling at her.
