She sits two seats and a row ahead of me. She dropped her pen and as she bent down to grab it she stopped and looked at me, I felt her eyes burning with curiosity onto my skin. I looked back at her with the same amount of intensity. I still felt as if I could stare into those eyes for a lifetime and never feel the need to look away. So I didn't, I just sat there like a dumbass and looked into her grey eyes. She probably found this weird, but how can you blame me? this is the first time since the incident that Cadence decided to let her emotions grace her beautiful face. But as if it had never happened her face fades back to emotionless.Even with that emotionless persona it still surprises me that she doesn't have a parade of lovers following after her.. well apart from him. His name is James, he likes to think he is top shit in this college but in reality no one really gives two shits about the guy. That's the reason why I'm so perplexed as to why Cadence says around the preppy blonde who plays golf, I meant who the fcuk plays golf anymore? (no offence to anyone who plays golf)
They go everywhere together: I see them in the mornings together getting coffees, I see them walking in the library after there classes together, going into each others dorms. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they where sleeping together...
Wait.
Would she sleep with him?...
What the hell am I thinking about! I haven't spoken to her in years and I'm acting as if I still loved her. I decided long age to put these thoughts behind for her sake.
The literature professor dismisses the lesson with a shout, and the college students begin to shuffle behind one another towards the door, eager for for the weekend to begin or in my case to get to my dorm and hibernate for two days. I prefer to be kept to myself now and try not to drag any other innocent victims into the 'Wrath of Noah.' I guess the name built up from my reputation of getting into fights and often ruining my chances whenever something good happens in my life, which wasn't very often. But lets not dwell on the down.
I tread across the grass and garden as a short cut to my dorm and end up getting yelled at by a grumpy lady to 'get of the Dahlias'.
I ignore her.
My poorly painted cream dorm door is unlocked so I am assuming that my roommate Peter is already back. Peter is cool, he gets on my nerves every now and again. But he always provides we I need anything. Instead of seeing Peter I see Lauren and Jessica, they are my 'friends', I say 'friends' because although I hang out with them and a few others I wouldn't trust them. They're they kind of people who head for the hills as soon bad situations occur.
The girls in the group Jessica and Lauren can easily damage your reputation. Even though Lauren has a bad reputation for herself as the college tramp, she does seem that bothered by it, nor does she try to hide it. Plus without people like her majority of the campus boys would have blue balls. Jessica doesn't stray too far from Lauren's sex ways apart from the fact that she tends to stick to on person for awhile following them like a lost puppy whether it is a girl or a boy.
Then there are the boys Harry, Alex, Nathan and Daniel. I will let you decide how you feel about them...
"Noah! Your coming to the party right? Your going to this party" Lauren says without a greeting. "I'll pass" I say quite bluntly. "Yeah thinking about it Lauren I might skip it too" Jess agrees giving me a smirk along with a wink. Lauren looks between me and Jess before sending a furious glare towards Jess. "Jessie, I think Alex wanted you to go to the party, maybe I can stay back with Noah." If you haven't caught on to the bickering between the two, they both want to be laid and everyone on campus knows that I'm quite talented."Noah you want me to stay don't you?" Lauren asks giving me a pointed look. "Not really" I say but I think she choses to ignore me and have a some sort of telepathic conversation through her eyes with Jessica.
After a few more glares are exchange Lauren leaves to go god knows where.
"You do know its a huge blow to her confidence when the 'big man on campus' doesn't want to sleep with her." She says as she struts over towards me, trailing her hand from my chest down to my crotch. "I didn't exactly say I didn't want to sleep with her." I say grabbing her hand and pushing past her towards my bed. "So now you are saying you would rather sleep with her instead of me?" She questions rising her voice along with the pitch. "I didn't say that either. Don't put words in my mouth." I honestly don't know what I wanted, I've been feeling different every since coming back from break.
"Oh well.. Lets get started." She says while closing the door turning the lock on the door. I reach behind her to unlock it again then opening the door hoping she will take a hint that I don't want her company. She sits down on my grey covered bed ignoring the gesture. Pretty much every thing on my side of the dorm is grey or black whereas on Peters side, it is a combination of clashing colours. He was probably high or drunk when he chose his furniture, maybe both.
"Jessica, get out." I know she would dare to push me when I was irritated, no one ever talked back; they were all to scared of the consequences that I could bring. But as expected she grabs her purse and dashes to the door. Leaving me to wallow in my self-inflicted loneliness.
Chapter One. Done and dusted.
