A/N: So this is the first rewrite chapter, unedited for now, but I really wanted to get this posted. Tell me if you think I should continue it or not. Here it is:

The past years had been a never-ending nightmare for Ivory Malfoy. When Harry Potter had gotten her father thrown into Azkaban, she was secretly overjoyed. But reality had come crashing back down when Voldemort chose Draco to serve in his place. Her older brother was given the task of killing the greatest wizard in existence-she had eavesdropped on a late night conversation between the Dark Lord, Narcissa and her Aunt Bellatrix. To make matters worse, the known Death Eaters were forced into hiding, most took cover in the Malfoy Manor. Ivory kept to her room that whole year, terrorized by the servants of Voldemort who always seemed to be in a touch-me-and-I'll-kill-you mood. When Voldemort took over the Wizarding World late in the summer, he broke Lucius Malfoy from jail and placed their family under dept to him, to be paid off only after a lifetime of service from Ivory once she grew old enough.

The last month before school lasted a millennium for Ivory. Her family paid her almost no attention; they were always in meetings or running errands for the Dark Lord. She spent her time curled up with a book in the window seat in her room, waiting for the time when she got to go to Hogwarts arrived.

Finally, September 1 came. Draco took his little sister to the train station-seeing as his parents couldn't be bothered and he did not trust the Death Eaters with her. They parted with a hug and a promise to write every day, "Make sure you get into Slytherin."

Ivory nodded solemnly before finding boarding the train and sitting in a compartment to herself. No one bothered her for the entire ride, as they neared the Hogsmeade station, she changed into her new robes and waited patiently for the train to stop.

After being sorted into Slytherin, as expected, she ate dinner alone and followed the Prefects to the common room. Her room mates were more than those in the other houses, and no wonder why. There was Julie Monticello, Andrea and Ariana (Andy and Ari) Webbs, Annabeth Moore, Elle Lehman, Regina Krane and Johanna Mendler. None of them bothered her, and she didn't bother them. Ivory had never had much experience with socializing.

The school year was lonely for Ivory, while she was at the castle; she wanted nothing more than to go home and vice versa. But she was a good student, always paid attention, took notes and did whatever the teachers asked-even when it was crucio your desk partner, who happened to be Regina. Neither liked hurting the other, they had nothing against each other. The two would sit next to each other in every class, both doing the absolute best job they could do and rarely speaking. Ivory considered Regina a friend, and her hopes that Regina thought the same were not in vain.

May had just begun when the entire school was summoned to the Great Hall in the middle of the night. Regina and Ivory changed into their robes in record time and made their way there quickly and quietly. Once everyone was present, the Headmaster, Professor Snape, announced that Harry Potter had been sighted in Hogsmeade.

Once Harry Potter himself had stepped forward, Professors Snape and McGonagall dueled, leaving only the transfiguration teacher in the Hall once it had ended.

Ivory's POV

Once Professor Snape had gone, McGonagall called for all those underage or unwilling to fight to leave through the Room of Requirement. I didn't want to leave, Draco would be here soon. Regina grasped my hand, "C'mon."

"Where are we going?"

"Shhh, just follow me."

We traveled with the rest of the crowd out of the hall before Regina casually slipped out, me close behind and we went into the girl's bathroom.

"What are we doing?"

"Look, I know you want to fight, and I do too. So we'll wait here until it starts, then go out."

I nodded, "Okay... Are you nervous?"

"A bit. But there's no turning back now."

We sat in silence for what felt like forever, maybe this wasn't a very good idea. I didn't know very many spells, well; I did, but only from reading about them. While we waited, I realized I didn't know very much about Regina. We talked on occasion, usually clarifying on homework or asking for help on a potion, but we never talked about our personal lives. I had spent all year sleeping in a bed next to her, eating meals with her and doing my work in the library with her, but I didn't even know her birthday.

"Reg-" I was cut off by a loud bang.

"This is it," she whispered.

"I guess so."

"Should we stick together?" she asked.

"Er, we could try?"

"Alright," she smiled nervously, "Let's go."

I opened the door and she peaked out, "There's no one here."

We left the bathroom and pulled out our wands, making our way back to the Great Hall. After turning two corners, we began to see people fighting, some staff and students versus the Death Eaters. I didn't see anyone who wasn't originally in the school, not until we passed the entrance hall, squeezing past most of the fighting without anyone noticing. A loud crashing noise startled me, a wall was crashing down. I flung myself away from it before standing back up and dusting myself off, "Regina?" I called, coughing on the cloud of dust.

"I'm here!"

I couldn't see her, but I had to assume she was alright, "I'm going to look for my brother."

"Okay, I'm gonna stay here and hide, I might be able to hit some Death Eaters before they see me."

"Good luck," I called before running the other direction, wand clutched in my hand.

I remember casting spell after spell, stupefy! reducto! expelliarmus! the only three spells I was comfortable with using. There were lots of shouts, names being screamed, walls crumbling, pictures being knocked off their nails and flying debris and the occasional person. I ran as fast as I could, looking for Draco. Regret was building up inside me, what I was thinking when I passed up the opportunity to flee, I don't know. But there was nothing I could do about it now. After running up several flights of stairs, before stopping when I saw him. He was lying on the ground next to one of his friends, Goyle, I think. Two boys, one with red hair and one with dark messy hair, and a girl stood talking, not noticing I was there. I ran forward, crouching by Draco while four more people stumbled in, dueling.

"Draco?" I asked, crouching down by his side.

"Ivory?" he choked, "You shouldn't be here. You should be in Hogsmeade with everyone else."

"I wanted to know you were okay," I whispered, letting a few tears fall.

I was so caught up in talking to my big brother that I didn't notice what was going on. I stood, looking over to the three who had their wands pointed at my chest while the other four still dueled. I wanted to run, but I couldn't just leave Draco. My feet shuffled to the left, away from Draco and his friend, trying to escape. My thoughts were racing, telling me to stop and go back. But I was already pressed against a nearby wall, between the trio and the ones who had defeated their opponents and now stood laughing at something they had said. Then I saw the scar on his forehead. Before I could say anything, there was an explosion. I screamed as it threw me.

"No! Fred! No!" someone was screaming.

I pulled myself to my feet, stumbling as I tried to make my way over to Draco. But my legs weren't working properly. I saw one of the red-headed boys, lying on the ground, a laugh still on his face while two, who seemed to be his brothers, cried over him. I didn't stay to watch. As much as I wanted to stay for my brother, a giant spider burst through the window at the end of the hall. I took off, not looking back to make sure Draco was okay.
