Brother's Teammate (Andrew Benintendi)

Chapter 1

MAY 10TH

Today's the day! I finally get to go to Fenway Park and watch the boys play!

It was a night game and we got to go to the field early and hang out with everyone before actually staying and watch (hopefully) them win! I got up around 9 and went downstairs and found my mom making pancakes, my favorite, and everyone was sitting at the table waiting for breakfast. 

"So lil sis, you excited for today? You're first baseball game!" Xander said as I sat down. "I'm way too excited, but I'm having trouble picking out a jersey." I said back to him with a smirk on my face and he just looked at me. 

"You better be wearing mine and not Andrew's, by the way you get to meet him today." He said and I smiled. "Yes yes I know, I'm excited to meet everyone and all the more reasons to wear his jersey!" 

He just shook his head and then mom came over with the pancakes and bacon and we all dug in and after we were done, I went into my room and went into my bathroom and turned on my music on Spotify and LUV by Tory Lanez (you should listen to it, it's a good song) and started singing along and finally got in the shower. 

I got out and went into my closet and picked out my Xander jersey to make him happy of course and jeans and a pair of Nike Air Maxes. After I got dressed I went back into my bathroom and dried my hair and straightened it and put on some light makeup. 

By the time I was finished it was 1 and it was time to leave. We all got into Xander's Range Rover and we went off to the stadium. It was about a half hour drive from where we live and then we were finally there. I was singing the national anthem tonight that none of my family knew about and I was excited to surprise my family. 

We got into the stadium and Xander went into the locker room and we just followed him around because we didn't know what to do. When we walked into the locker room, we were greeted by all the players and they were very welcoming to us. I met everyone except Andrew, which was really upsetting. 

I decided to go off once everyone was occupied talking and I wandered around the clubhouse and finally found my way out onto the field where the pitchers were throwing their warmups and once Rick Porcello saw me he came right over to me and gave me a hug. He was one of the only guys I had met on the team because he and Xander were really close. 

"Hey what are you doing out here by yourself?" He asked me when we broke away from the hug. "Everyone was talking and I decided to sneak off and come explore and the tunnels took me out here." I said and he laughed. I looked around and saw Andrew in the batting area and my eyes went wide. 

"Whoa there, don't want your eyes popping out of your head!" He said and I nearly smacked him for saying that but laughed it off. "Want to go over to him and introduce yourself?" He asked and I nodded and he took me over there. 

"Hey Benny , meet X-Mans little sister Kristen. She thinks you're cute okay bye!" He said that last part really quickly and then ran off and I just rolled my eyes and smacked my forehead and I heard Andrew laughing. "At least one of us thinks it's funny." I said and laughed. "I'm Andrew and to be honest, I think you're cute too." 

When he said that I started blushing and hung my head and suddenly the dirt became interesting to me. He lifted up my chin and smiled at me. "Don't hide your pretty face, I love it when girls blush." He said with a wink and we talked and then X came up behind me and scared the shit out of me. 

"You really know how to scare people don't you?" I asked and he laughed and nodded. "So, how are things going over here with you two cuties?" I blushed again and refused to answer hime 1) because I was embarrassed and 2) because X has always been protective over me when it comes to guys so I was surprised. 

"She's a great girl, any guy would be lucky enough to have her as a girlfriend and wife someday." He said to us and I smiled and thanked him and he walked away and I went back over to my family and watched batting practice. 

After batting practice, I had to do soundcheck and at that point everyone went into the clubhouse so they couldn't hear me and the soundcheck went perfect. I started my trek back into the clubhouse and I found Andrew sitting in the dugout. 

"You know, you could make a living off of singing, you're really good." He said getting up and coming over to me. "Well thank you. My family doesn't know that I'm doing that today at the game, it's a surprise for them. I think you're the only one that knows off of the team." I said with a laugh and he laughed along with me. 

"Well shall we go back into the clubhouse?" He asked and held his arm out for me to take and I linked my arm through his and laughed. "We shall!" And with that we skipped off to the clubhouse where everyone else was. 

"Where have you been all this time?" My mom asked and I smiled knowing I couldn't tell her. "Just out on the field taking it all in." I said and she nodded knowing something was up, I went over to X and sat on his lap and he just looked at me and everyone laughed. "May I help you?" He said. 

"Sure you can help me with a lot of things!" I said and he looked at me telling me to go on. "Well I could use a boyfriend, a new house, a new car, a dog and whole bunch of other things!" I said and laughed. "Okay well, I can't help you with a new house, maybe a car and I can get you a dog and I'm sure I could help you out with the boyfriend thing." And with that he winked at Andrew and I started blushing and then realizing what he said about the dog. 

"WAIT DID YOU SAY YOU'LL GET ME A PUPPY?!" I said jumping off of him. He nodded and I hugged him so tight. "You're the best brother ever. I love you X." I said in his ear while we were hugging. "I love you too K, you're the best thing that's happened to this family and I never would've asked for anyone better." 

I almost cried and I knew he wanted to as well.  "About the boyfriend thing, pretty please?" I said and laughed and he did too. "I'll see what I can do. He's the only one I'll allow you to date though okay? No one else from any other team." I smiled and nodded. "Understood X." I smiled as we made our way to the field. 

The boys went through the pregame ceremonies and then it was finally time for me to sing the national anthem. "Now here to sing the nation anthem, Kristen Bogaerts." The announcer said and I looked at my family and they were shocked and Andrew just had a big smile on his face. 

I went through it perfectly and everyone gave me a standing ovation. I waved to the crowd before going back over to the team. "How come you didn't tell me that you were singing today?" X said after he gave me a hug. "Surprise! Now go on and give us a win!" I said and me and my family went off to our seats. 

The boys ended up winning 13-5 and Andrew got two hits and so did X. It was a great first game to go to. We went back down to the clubhouse and John Farrell stopped me before I went in. "I was just wondering if you would help us out for the summer, like coming on all the road trips and helping me keep the guys in line, what do you say?" 

I smiled so wide and shook my head yes. "It would be an honor, I just have to talk to my parents about it." He smiled. "I already talked to them about it, they said that it would be fine." He said and I smiled and thanked him and went into the clubhouse where everyone was celebrating. 

"So, I hear you're coming on the road with us." Andrew said as he walked up to me. I smiled and blushed and looked down. Damn he already has that effect on me, I'm a sucker. "Yeah, I am, I'm so excited." He smiled at me and handed me a piece of paper. 

I opened it and he winked at me and walked away, I looked down at it and it was his phone number and I don't think my cheeks could get any more red. Finally after all the interviews were over, we got to go home. It was around midnight when we got home and I was beyond tired. 

I went up to my room to change and I crawled into bed and went on my phone and decided to text Andrew so he could have my number. 

"Hey Andrew, it's Kristen, just wanted to text you so you had my number, have a good night(:" I sent it and plugged my phone in and just as I was about to turn off the lights, my phone rang and I picked it up and saw that Andrew had texted me back. 

"Hey, it was great meeting you tonight, hope to see you again real soon. xoxo Andrew" I smiled and finally turned off the lights and went to sleep with a big smile on my face.
