 | *pops out from behind my couch* Is it safe...? XD Well, I might be, but Melody and Levin are in for quite a brutal ride! (Y'all will get my pun about halfway through this. :3) Welp BluePikachuGirl, try to keep your bazooka lowered, There's a bit of Fluff in this chapter~! (Nothing big, but the butterflies have intruded!) |

     Melody felt strength returning to her limbs, as well as her senses. Her head pounded at her, and she tasted copper in her mouth. She was on something cold, but not stone, possibly, metal? Yes, she was on metal. There was a huff of warm air on her ankle, which she determined to be someone's breath. But who's? She tried recalling what she last remembered. The scene of the front office flashed back into her mind. She gasped, opening her eyes in a flash. Her surroundings frightened her even more. It was very dark, with the only light being from the light in her crystal necklace around her neck.

     Melody forced herself to calm down, and she noticed who had been breathing on her ankle. It was Levin, he was covered in a layer of sweat, and his breathing was more uneven than it was supposed to be. His broken arm was not slung and the bone was completely shattered. She used her sleeve to wipe away the sweat.

     "Levin? Levin wake up!" Urgency was the tone of her voice. She gently shook him as well.

     Levin woke with a start, his eyes shooting open. Melody held his arms, repeating to him that it was okay, that she was there. After about a minute, he calmed down. Melody found a wall and leaned him against it. She took her belt and removed it, as it was just an accessory; she had no real need for it. She gently slid it under Levin's injured arm and secured it on his opposite shoulder. Levin was visibly holding back shrieks of pain. Melody hugged him gently.

     "I'm sorry, I-I had to...It would've gotten worse if I didn't..."

     "M-Melody..." Levin spoke in a hushed voice. Melody looked at him. He was pale and parched. Melody looked around, but she couldn't see any exit, or any doors at all.

     The floor jolted, throwing both Levin and Melody in the air for a few seconds. When they fell back down, Melody fell into Levin. She felt her heart skip several beats and jumped back, bright red.

     "S-sorry! I-I didn't land on your arm, did I?" She asked worriedly, reaching for her necklace.

     "N-No, I've fine, a-are you okay?"

     "Y-yeah..." She takes a deep breath and thankfully, her red, hot face toned down. "I-I think it's safe to assume w-we're in a truck..."

     "H-heh, y-yeah." Levin chuckled. Melody looked at him curiously. He was wearing a small smile.

     "What's that for?" Melody asked good-naturedly.

     "Well," Levin readjusted himself with his uninjured arm. Melody sat by him. "Because even though your crazy dad kidnapped us, I'm here with you." He smirked in the darkness.

     Melody felt her face become very hot again. Thankfully, with her hand over her necklace, Levin couldn't see how flustered she was. "R-right, a-and um, y-you can, call him Jackson."

     "Right. All we can do now is sit tight."

     "Mmm-hmm." Melody, although having just awoken, put her head tiredly on Levin's shoulder.

     "If he comes, I'll wake you up."

     "Thank you..."

     Melody's mind was already dragging with weariness. The last time she had to work on her feet so quickly was when Jackson had broken Jason's little four year old hand. She was eight. She shook the thought from her head. Now was not the time to be thinking of Jason. Her eyelids fluttered shut and she yawned, curling up a bit more and falling asleep after a few minutes.

~~~~~
     Levin, although in excruciating pain from his arm, kept back his cries of pain. He knew Melody had a big heart made of pure gold, and that with it, she cared for so many people. He also knew that she had been through more than the average eleven year old. A lot more. He swore that once they got free, he would make sure she was safe with her new Dad, Zane Ro'meave. Although he had never admitted it, he liked her, and while he was going to wait until they were older to date her, he knew without a doubt that Melody liked him back. Alexis had told him so, and every time he smiled at her, her cheeks would redden a bit. When he heard her steady breaths, he knew she was asleep, so he became alert and awake. He would never let Jackson hurt her if he could stop it.
~~~~~

     Zane was highly focused on the security cameras for the school and city. He had seen what all happened, now he had to track down Jackson and save Melody and her friend. When he checked the time, he blinked in disbelief. 5:13am. He had stayed up all night, without a single lead about Jackson. Aphmau knocked on his door before entering, wrapping her arms around him.

     "We'll find her Zane, Jackson's not taking either of them." Aphmau stated firmly, but in a soft voice.

     "His moves are so unpredictable, and we don't know where he's going." Zane yawned. Aphmau raised an eyebrow.

     "Zane? Did you stay up?"

     "Maybe..."

     "Zane!" Aphmau looked very worried. "You need your sleep!"

     "I know! I know! I just, lost track of time..." Zane looked away.

     "Zane, you need to go lay down, it's not healthy to not sleep!" Aphmau exasperated. "When you wake up, we can continue the search, okay? Melody wouldn't want you to hurt yourself getting to her."

     "Knock Knock? Is, everything okay?" Gene had appeared at the office door. He looked concerned for Zane. Zane growled. He still didn't like Gene, even though Melody did.

     " Gene, you can't tell anyone. Period." Aphmau made sure she was clear.

     "My lips are sealed."

     " Melody and Levin, her friend, have been kidnapped. By Jackson Foxel."

     " Oh my Irene, are you serious?"

     Aphmau looked at him with sassy disappointment. "Didn't you see the news? He murdered Vice Principal Isabelle from PDE!"

     "I-I don't watch, the news..." He said with a bit of nervousness. "W-what can I do to help?"

     " If you could spread the word it'd help greatly." Zane finally spoke.

     " Yeah of course! Let me know if there's anything else!" Gene basically ran out of the police station. In the way that he was going to do something rash, but not what he was supposed to do. Zane gave a groan.

     "Knew he wouldn't do it." He grumbled.

     "Zane! Gene's changed! Just like you!" Aphmau crossed her arms.

     "Agh, sorry..." Zane felt irritated with himself. He got really grumpy like he used to be when he was tired.

     "Go home and to bed, now." Aphmau ordered.

     "Fine, Mom." Zane said sarcastically.

     Zane opened the office door and out the police station. He caught the bus home and when he opened the door, he knew that his house was missing something. Several of Melody's drawings were scattered on the walls, and her boots were by the door. Her purple jacket hung on the coat rack. The couch had a couple of her My little Horsey figurines on it and there was another picture. Zane picked it up. It said, "I love my Family". It wasn't just him and her in the picture, though. There was also Aphmau, Garroth, her mother, Jason, Katelyn, Kawaii~Chan, Laurence, Dante, Travis, (They were easy to depict by the names on the top of the heads) Lucinda, and Zane's Mother, Zianna. He held the paper like it was a precious and sacred piece of parchment. Jackson if you dare hurt this little angel, you are truly a monster.
