Hello.

This is dedicated to my bestie since yesterday was her birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FIFI! <3

This chapter gets a little steamy towards the ending, just a warning.

Enjoy!

Chapter 25. Masquerade

Emily's POV

"Here we are, The Dorchester Hotel miss," the kind cabbie said as we pulled up in front of one of the fanciest hotels' in London.

"That'll be £6 and 20 pence."

"Thanks," I said after handing him the money and getting out of the cab.

I stood in front of a large marble building which looked more like a palace. It's white marble walls glowed in contrast to the pitch black surroundings.

Beams of blue and purple flashed on the tall structure from massive spotlights placed near the enterance.

The faint beat of loud music could be heard.

I pulled my dress up slightly so I could walk easily as I made my way to the enterance.

"Invitation please?," a middle aged man in a navy blue suit asked me. The two massive bouncers beside him watched my every move as I fetched the pass Emma had given me, from my clutch.

I struggled to find the pass as I had stuffed my clutch with rubbish. The middle age man let out an audible sigh, getting slightly annoyed. The intense looks from the two big bouncers wasn't helping.

Way to make someone uncomfortable guys.

"Aha!," I shouted in victory as I finally got hold of my pass.

"Cheeky little bugger eh?," I joked with the man in the navy suit as I handed the pass to him.

He didn't even bother looking at me and let out yet another sigh as he tore half the pass.

I quickly grabbed the other half and stumbled into the lavish hotel.

I read the words; Modest! Party on level 20, on a large board and made my way towards the lift.

I entered the elevator and pushed the button labeled 20. I turned around and looked at my reflection in the mirror.

I really did look good. The dim lighting in the lift made my dark makeup look even better along with my red dress. The red lipstick and smokey eyeshadow made me look quite sexy.

The way Emma styled my hair was similar to the way she wore hers. I was quite satisfied with the way I looked, knowing I was bound to catch a certain curly haired boy's attention. I glanced down at the pretty bracelet around my hand.

I had borrowed something of Emma's without her knowledge but I knew she wouldn't mind. It was actually quite odd if you looked at the charms. Everything was so random. There was a musical note, a burger and some other weird stuff.

The lift dinged, signaling that I had reached my designated floor. I was about to exit the lift when the doors opened and I remembered the key item for the event.

The mask.

I quickly put it on before exiting the lift and entering the massive and loud ballroom.

I gracefully descended down the marble staircase feeling rather like Cinderella. The lighting in here was also quite dim. When I reached the bottom of the stairs I looked around for any familiar faces but all I saw was posh ladies and middle aged men.
