"I never thought knowing someone, caring for someone...loving someone could make your life go from 0-100"
Annas pov.
I looked around me and saw so much. Kids playing outside, teens looking at (the new people moving in) through their shuttered windows, giving me dirty looks for a moment only to return to their phones. I smiled sarcastically at my mom who was lugging a box inside. "I can tell people are liking us already" I said shooting a glance to a girl in the house next to us who could not refrain from looking at us like we were roaches crawling amongst a wall. My mom could hear the false truth in my voice and put the box down. "Anna I know that you were not wanting to move here from texas but honey you have to understand, I could not support you or me with the money I was making." I looked at her for a moment, jet lagged and stressed. The bags under her eyes grew denser and her smile fell weak. I smiled a loving smile and picked up the box she had been dragging into the house and I could see why she was dragging it, it must have weighed at least 30 pounds. after around two hours of moving boxes in it was around 8 at night and we were both tired. My mom went to make us some ice cream and took out my phone. 3 missed calls and 26 missed text messages. Most were from my now ex-boyfriend Dominick. One was from my best friend Kodi. I brought up skype and started calling. As the phone vibrated in my hands I made my way outside. the moon shined so brightly it was as if the sun had just hidden behind the darkness. I laid down in the grass outside my front door and looked up, something was missing. Suddenly I heard a recognizable voice that sounded distant.
"Hello! Anyone there?" I looked down at my phone and saw Kodi. I smiled and held the phone over my face. "sorry did not see you"
"Anna I miss you why did you have to leave, Dominick misses you to" she said in an awe.
"Kodi we could not continue seeing as we live much to far" i said to her
she smiled at me,"do you miss that?"
"miss what" i asked her.
"the stars"
I looked up at the empty sky, i used to lay outside with kodi at night and watch the stars, now the sky was just darkness.
"yes, yes I do" i said before my mom called me to eat.
