Mr and Mrs. Gluskin

Chapter 1

~Narrator~

Silence. The house was filled with silence as well as the dead atmosphere that surrounded the room. The only noise was rain pounding hard outside against the windows. However, there was another sound, a baby's cry, echoing through the hallways  and down the stairs. At the last room at the end of the hallway, there a husband holding a miracle baby in his arms while standing over a lifeless female's body, his wife, Marie.

The scene was gruesome, red stains covered the walls and white sheets, heavy drips spilled to the floor. Excess amounts of blood gathered and made puddles. Eddie looked down at his beloved newborn child with bright eyes and a huge smile. Completely ignoring the work that he done, he walked away and exited the room, turning his back to Marie, his wife, who was still.

Marie was pale from the head to the toes down. Wearing only a white night gown made especially for her and she wore it beautifully but, the large gash down the middle of her abdomen, with guts and intestines poking through the lovely gown made it horrific to see. Her arms were tied with wire to the metal bars of the bed as well as her feet. Her legs were spread wide as if she had given birth, but clearly was given a violent c-section.

Marie's face looked in ways expressionless and lack of peace. Her Amber eyes were closed, she never saw her baby girl.

~Eddie~

I sat in a rocking chair holding my little darling wrapped in a towel, in my arms. "My, what a tiny thing you are?"  I sang sweetly as she calm down. What I wished for came true, a baby girl, my little darling, a gift given to me and I was eager to unwrap it. A first moment we were having, so precious, so rare and I was the first to witness. I hummed her a sweet tune, I didn't know what to hum nor did I care what song to hum to. I was just excited that a part of me and a part of....... Created a life.... Together.. (Long pause)....

I glued my feet to the floor and sat up, the chair stopped rocking. Our baby was still asleep in my arms, as I turned my attention to the yellow colored wall. "Marie..." I let let out in a whisper that only I can hear. Out of the silence, Ana screamed.
I had no reaction, for I already know why she's screaming. What I've done, Was Marie's fault, not mine.

The sounds of Ana's feet tumbling the wooden floor were nearby, soon I saw her left eye poking through the door edge, then her whole face appeared. She had sad brown eyes filled with heavy tears along with a cute stuffy nose. She let out silent shaken breaths as she approached us. Her lips quivered as she reached both her arms as to carry the baby. "May..I...I.."  She stuttered. I laid my little darling in her thin open arms. Ana grew a broken smile and swayed side ways. "Ivy...." She spoke as her tear stained eyes glared up at me  "name her Ivy...."  She retorted. I directly told her no. Her eyes widen to my response, at first her expression became angrier, then after a while eased. She was now in a pleading state. "Please, Eddie.... Marie loved that name.."
"And I said no, Ana, my baby is to be named after my grandmother" I stole my darling from Ana's arms. Ana's knees began to shiver uncontrollably before collapsing to the floor, practically kneeling before me. "Fine ....but... please don't leave Marie the way she is, it's unbearable to look and its disrespectful"
She added only this time her face was hidden behind her dark hair and her head was to the wooden floor. Staring back at her than my daughter, I decided to do Ana this favour. After all, Marie did give me this most treasured gift.

I paused when I was a mere few inches to the room. The way Marie was positioned, the way she looked wasn't proper at all. A sense of grief and guilt came over me, I rushed to her side, undid her hands and feet and hurried for my sewing kit, stuck a needle through thread and quickly but carefully stitched the gash I purposely made, together. That stopped any more blood from escaping. Her skin was still (barely) warm silk though. I had only a sense that she was still alive. With my hand grabbing one of her wrists, checking for a pulse. There was only a faint heartbeat, she was slowly dying. Then both her eyes shot open, the stare they gave me was full of fear and hate. Both eyes began  twitching at fast-paced. She took fast breathes through her nose, her upper body began to tense and trembled which made the bed squeak noisily. From the way she expressed, most pain was through her eyes and face. The remainder of her body was motionless. Then suddenly, she snatched my hand and squeezed all her energy and strength, as if trying to hurt me in someway. She indeed had some life left in her, the grip she held made my hand go numb. Then....

She was no longer twitching, or moving, nor staring at me, instead she looked up to the ceiling with no facial reaction at all. Just a dull, blank stare. In an instant, I checked her pulse again she was alive.

~Narrator~

Marie was alive and breathing. Thank god.  She was going to live to be Mother of Gluskin's child. This was his decision, for the sake of his daughter having a mother. Eddie lacked qualities of being a female figure, though he did have rather small feminine side of women's fashion, cosmetics and etc. But he knew that there were just certain things that only a mother and a daughter can talk about.
Plus, if his wife does die in the further future. He has Ana, the younger sister of Marie and Aunt to his baby.

As the days flew, Eddie took care of his family, taking care of Marie while she remained bedridden and more importantly Ivy (which he also made a decision to change cause 'Abigail' didn't seem to fit the physical appearance) to which he fed and adored daily.
As more days flew by, Marie still had not seen her baby.
Eddie kept his wife locked in that same room since Ivy was born. Ivy was like a living doll, with big oval-shaped green eyes and lovely raven hair like her mothers. In fact most of Ivy's characteristics where from her mother, the long eyelashes, the pointed chin, even Marie's long elegant hands. There were a few genes Ivy did inherit from her dad, like the color of her eyes and fair skin. Of course Eddie's eyes weren't green, but a solid blue. However, genes also work in mysterious ways. Eddie's late mother also had those lovely sea green eyes.

One morning Eddie held little Ivy in his large arms slowly rocking her back and forth, while feeding her through a small bottle filled with milk from Ana's own breast. (Ana offered of course!)
The last room at the very end of the hall, where Gluskin's wife remained. There on the bed she laid in a peaceful position with her arms by her sides (not tied with wire) and her feet straight and closed. The blood-stained covers were replaced by cream coloured sheets which covered only the bottom half of her body. Her raven hair was combed and laid out on the pillow. There was a clear glass vase of pink and white roses siting on the night stand beside her. The windows revealed bright sunlight shining through the darkness. The display of the room looked decent and clean, which took away the idea that there ever was a horrendous act taken place.

Marie slowly opened her eyes, exposing the dark orange to sunlight. Her golden eyes gazing at the surroundings around her. Just then, her mind became clear. She now was in reality, as dark and wrathful thoughts began to enter her mind, she thought of only the wicked and vile ideas that she had for her dear husband.

~Marie~

'Oh Eddie, dear... what plans I have for you'  I chuckled.
