"Hey Carter! Looking sexy!"
"Look at that sexy beast!"
"Can I have your number?"
I'm currently walking down the hallway at school, and keep getting called out. You're probably confused, so let me fill you in.
Today is Wednesday. Of homecoming week. Meaning it's gender bender day. Now it might not be the most creative thing, but I'm currently wearing a cheerleading uniform. Most of the guys in the team thought it'd be funny if we dressed up like them, so here I am.
I was supposed to meet Amelia at the front again, but she just texted me telling me she'd be late. You see, if Amelia was here, my dress up would make more sense. She decided that she would wear my jersey and be a "football player". We are supposed to be partaking in all the dressup days, so this was the best we could come up with.
I keep heading down the hallway until I meet up with Kaden at his locker.
"Hey man," I say.
"Hey Carter."
"So did Mackenzie wear your jersey too?" I query.
"Pfft. No. She said 'you sweat in that'. That's why she's wearing a 49ers jersey."
My eyes widened when he said 49ers. "The 49ers? C'mon everyone knows real men are Raiders fans."
"You keep telling yourself that, Carter. It's all bout them 'boys."
"Sometimes I rethink our friendship." I say and shake my head.
"Whatever man. Where's Amelia?" He ask.
"Running late. Why do you seem so interested in what she's doing lately." I question.
"No, I just wanted to you know, see if your costumes went together." He began to blush profusely.
"Kaden do you like my girlfriend? Because if you do, we're going to have a problem."
"No nothing like that, man." Kaden says quickly.
"Alright," I say.
~.~Through the rest of the day, I keep questioning Kaden's answer. I mean, this "relationship" is going to end in about a week, so if Amelia started dating someone else, I shouldn't care. But the problem is, that I do care. I know I shouldn't, but something in the way Amelia acts makes me want to be there for her.
The chances of her feeling the same way, are possibly slim to nothing, especially with me having the reputation of being a man whore. We are complete opposite. She's smart, snarky, and beautiful, while I'm just the player.
"Mr. Wilson. Am I boring you?" My teacher calls out.
"No sir," I say. I look at the clock and realize we have 25 minutes before school ends. Thank the heavens! I still have practice, but the teachers just seemed so pissy. I guess homecoming week doesn't sit well with them.
"Alright class, that's it for today. Mr. Wilson you can go to practice."
With that, I stand from my seat abruptly, and head down to the locker room. Once I get there, I change quickly and head out to the field.
