Stiles' pov
"JESS WE NEED TO TALK ASAP." I say ranting into the voicemail machine after her not picking up the phone.
Lydia has been trying to figure out the key to the dead pool, and she finally uncovered the second part.
"Lydia what the hell are we going to do?" I ask.
"You tell me. You always come up with the plans." She said sassily and sarcastically.
"Oh god." I said rolling my eyes.
"Oh trust me. You have more things to worry about. The PSATs coming up and everything." Lydia said trailing off. "Sucks to be you." She said finishing her statement.
"Just shut up Okay!" I said, annoyed as can be at her.
She just laughed and looked at me.
Jess texted me.What the hell do u want!😑
Get to my house ASAP👍🏼
Ok sure
10 minutes later Jess arrived at my house.
"Hey Stiles!" Jess exclaimed barging into my room. "Oh hey Lydia!" Jess added, noticing she was there. "Ok Lydia discovered the second part to the dead pool." I said explaining things to her.
"What the hell is a dead pool?"
"You haven't explained it to her yet?" Lydia said rolling her eyes.
"I may have left out one teeny tiny little detail." I say trailing off, guilty as charged. "That's one tiny detail there Stiles." Lydia says.
"STOP BEING SO SARCASTIC!" I exclaim. "I learn from the best," Lydia says, totally referencing to me.
"Lydia. Explain please." Jess commands, barging in a bit.
"Okay. The dead pool is a list of supernatural creatures. If you kill them and supply visual conformation to the benefactor, you'll get payed X amount of money." Lydia explained, perfectly.
"Who's the benefactor?" Jess asked.
"That's what we're wondering too Jess." I say.
"Hey Stiles, can I talk to you for a second?" Jess asks, gesturing toward the hallway.
I walk into the hallway following Jess, softly closing the door behind us.
"Okay so you know that Derek guy?" Jess asks, concerned. "Ya I do. What about him?" I ask a question back.
"Well ever since I arrived in Beacon Hills, he's kinda been following me around... everywhere." Jess said getting quiet. "And I don't even know why!" Jess exclaimed, getting teary-eyed and terrified.
"Why?" I ask, trying to comfort her. "I don't know, okay? That's why I told you." She said. She's almost crying now. I'm beginning to get more worried about her.
"It's gunna be okay. We'll find out why, Okay. I promise. Scott and I would do anything. And I mean anything."
Jess doesn't respond. She doesn't say anything. Fear? Could that be it. This is sure a good moment for the True Alpha werewolf best friend. We're just there in silence.
Jess pulls me into a hug.
"STILES JESS GET IN HERE!" Lydia screams through my door out into the hallway, ruining the moment. I open the door holding hands with Jess. She wipes away the tears right as we walk in so Lydia doesn't notice she was almost crying.
"What is it?" I ask having a mini panic attack, thinking something is wrong. Maybe she found another dead body... great.
"Jess," she says, pointing at her.
"What about me?" Jess asks to Lydia, concern in her voice.
"Why you?" Lydia says trailing off.
"Me? What the hell is she talking about?" Jess asks, seeming to panic.
"Y-You're. You're on it." Lydia finally says.
"I'm on the dead pool?" Jess says. "No way," she says laughing a bit.
"I'm serious." Lydia says. I'm just standing there hearing this whole thing go on.
"Here, look at it." Lydia commands to Jess, handing her the dead pool.
Jess looks at it for a moment and then immediately drops it. The paper floats to the ground like a feather, light as can be.
"She was right, Stiles. I'm on the dead pool."
Sorry for the kinda short chapter. Hope you like it, and keep on reading! ❤️
