I woke up the next morning to my hand maiden knocking on the door. Before I could get up I saw Arin standing at the foot of my bed. I nearly jumped from my bed.

"Jeez Arin, I managed to stay alive for these past 100 or so years and you almost gave me a heart attack." I said and she started to laugh.

She was taller, but still short and thin. She had pale skin and dark blue eyes and jet black hair. Her face didn't change at all, but her hair is longer.

"Lady Shieri! I missed you so much!" She said leaping on top of me as I still laid in bed. She was always super affectionate.

"I hate you for leaving me here with no one to talk to about how boring this place is." She said happily, still hugging me.

"Alright alright, enough of the hugging. I missed you too. And for the millionth time don't call me lady Shieri." I said and she shook her head. She rolled off of me into the spot beside me on my bed. We just to do this all the time, we'd sit here and stare at the ceiling talking about ridiculous topics.

"You know it's a habit." She said laughing.

"So how have you been Arin?" I asked and she just shrugged. "I haven't done anything, I work on housekeeping since you've been gone. I wasn't really needed but your father I guess couldn't let me go. In fact I got a raise." I raised my brows in confusion. Why would he keep her on staff and give her a raise. I was glad because she still had a job, I was quite fond of her especially when growing up. Even though she always scolded me for not being a proper lady, especially in front of the other young future clan leaders at parties and other event.

She was about my age, maybe a few years older, but we were practically raised together. Her duty was to really keep me company being that I was the only child.

"So I hear you have a meeting at the seretei, care to explain?" She asked and I just eye rolled.

"Eaves dropping again I see, some things never change." I retorted and she just smiled innocently.

" I can't help that I have good hearing."she lied.

"Fine. I have a test in front of the captains. They are going to let me back into the seretei if I prove I'm useful. I just have to fight somebody." I said and she just sat their taking it all in with wide eyes.

"Wow, do you know who you're fighting?" She asked and I shrugged.

"No clue. I hope it's somebody easy. But I doubt they'd make me fight a captain. I mean come on, when I left I wasn't even a ranked officer yet." I said nervously.

"Yeah watch it be an unseated officer. I hope it is for your sake. These soul reapers have gotten way more intense after Aizen."

"Who the hell is Aizen? Lieutenant Aizen"

"Well he became captain, and then betrayed the soul society. So he became bad guy Aizen, made all those Espadas? You're telling me you missed all of this." I nodded.

"Well your lucky I had to live through all of it, and all I would here is Aizen that, Aizen this. Apparently this guy almost took over the world if it wasn't for a boy named Ichigo Korasaki." She said as she fiddled with her fingers.

"I don't know how you know these things but I genuinely worry about how easy it is for you to get information." I said laughing and she giggled with me.

"Well anyway you better get dressed you'll be late if you don't leave soon." My neck snapped toward the clock, shit I had to be there in an hour. I'd have to flash step the whole way there.

"Shit Arin why did you wake me up so late?" I asked.

"I could lie and say because you looked so peaceful sleeping but in reality I just woke up late myself. I'm not used to getting up early and waking you anymore!" She whined and I eye rolled.
