<Dan Howell>
The last thing I remembered was Phil and I riding a limo to a party. Some big YouTube party. It's really important. It has to be. There are twenty-four of us.
I turn to Phil, who has a huge crumpet in his hand. "Pig." I joke. Phil laughs. "Llama."
"Touché." I reply.Someone claps. "Hello! I am the head of YouTube! Mr. Jim Anderson." Everyone gives him a cheer. Well, who wouldn't? Without this guy, we wouldn't be YouTubers. We wouldn't have a career without YouTube.
"Now." He raises his hands. "I am aware of what this might cause. What hazards could come with what I'm about to say." My smile fades into a slight frown. What does he mean by this?
He continues. "I am proud to present to you, the most clever idea that was ever created! The YouTuber Hunger Games!" He shouts. All of us gasp. YouTuber Hunger Games?
"It will be a livestream. All your fans can watch! And it'll be free to watch, too! Although, you can be sponsored. If you're a big channel, you're more likely to get more sponsors."
Tyler Oakley raises his hand. "Yes, Mr. Oakley?" He says in a nasally tone. "Well, shouldn't this be, you know... Illegal?"
"Why, I'm glad you asked." He says, with a smirk starting to form on his face. "No law says we can't do this." Tyler still doesn't seem convinced. Is it because Troye is here with him? I mean, we all ship it. But if one of them has to die, I'm sure that would break him. I frown, and then decide to speak. "Who is 'We'?"
"The YouTube Rating Society. This was our idea. And if you intend to sneak out of here, you will be dead in an instant. There is a forcefield outside this building. If you want to find out for yourself, you will have to be replaced. If you touch that forcefield, you won't ever breathe again."
All the YouTubers are freaking out after what he has just said. Including Phil. I have to resist the urge to flip this man off. He watches as everyone screams at him, but his expression remains unchanged. "It starts tomorrow. Get some rest. You'll need it." He says, stepping down from his podium. We walk to our rooms, and each find charts of where we have to sleep. Each rooms have two twin-sized beds. I find my name on it. Phil and I are in the same room. Go figure. We both sit on our beds. They have blankets that feel like they could be made of velvet. I want to sleep in these forever. They're nothing like my blankets back at our flat. I look over at Phil. "Dan?" He mumbles. "Yeah?" I reply, waiting for his question. "I don't want to die."
"Me neither, Phil." He gives me a terrified look and clings to me, like a child to their mother. And the thing is, I don't want to let go of him. I want to just leave this place. Get back to our normal, YouTuber lives. Where no one dies.
No one is harmed.
If anyone touches my friend,
If anyone tries to kill Phil,
They're going to regret it.
