I hadn't gotten a call from Joseph since the day I gave him my number. I was too nervous to call him. I wouldn't know what to say to him. I hope that he didn't forget that he had my number. I was too busy with work at the music store since I had to learn a bunch of new stuff.
The store would be having a huge sale for the next couple of days because of summer and the manager decides to make me the person that closes up shop to see if i could handle the pressure. I was up to the challenge. However after like the third day I was so tired. I had only been getting a couple of hours of sleep because I had also started my summer classes at the university. I keep up with all of the work that they gave me.
After I got home from locking up I had noticed that there were missed calls from Joseph. I would have called him back,but I had a feeling that he would be asleep since it was late at night. I just decided that I'd call him the next morning before I went to school.
Joseph's p.o.v
I felt kinda nervous when Nicole didn't answer my call. I wanted to know how she was doing. I had finally found even courage to call her again, but she didn't answer. I hope everything was okay and that I didn't freak her out when I asked for her number. She could have said no. I figured I'd just wait to see if she would call me the next day or something. Sure enough that morning:
*cell phone rings*
"Hello?"
"Hey Joseph, It's Nicole."
"Oh hey, everything okay? Haven't heard from you for a couple of days "
"Yeah, sorry if I woke you up. Just wanted to return your call. I've been busy with school and work."
"That's okay, just wanted to see if everything was alright."
"Sorry I didn't return your calls sooner. Hopefully you weren't worrying about me."
She laughed.
I thought to myself. 'Yeah I was worried.' But I didn't tell her that.
"Don't worry about it. Since I'm up, are you busy today?"
"Yeah, sorry I have school and work today."
"Aw bummer."
"Why what's up?
"I was wondering if you wanted to hang out."
She stayed quiet for a while.
"Nicole?"
"Uh yeah, how about tomorrow? I have the day off."
"Sure!"
"Awesome, okay well I gotta get ready for school. I'll try to call you on my break at work if not then I'll see you tomorrow."
I laughed.
"Okay cool. Have a good day Nicole."
"Thanks, bye Joseph."
"Bye."
Woo! I get to hang out with Nicole tomorrow. Even though it was early in the morning I was wide awake now. I was so excited to see her again. Then I got kinda nervous because since she didn't like flowers I wasn't sure of what to get her as a gift. I laid in bed thinking about what to get her and decided to think about it later and had some breakfast before I went out for a morning run.

Whoa! I have no idea where that courage came from, but I'm glad I said yes to hang out with Joseph tomorrow. I tried to focus on my school work that day, but then I kept day dreaming about what we would be doing tomorrow. I just hoped that he didn't buy me flowers. They smell funny. After school I headed to the music store to start my shift. Everything was going smooth until some snobby kid came into the store complaining that his violin strings had busted because he left it in his parent's car during the day in the summer. That's a big no-no.
I tried to calm him down from yelling and freaking out about it and that I'd have it fixed in a while. When I finally changed the strings he was all quiet. I was so relieved because I was seriously about to slap him, but I kept my cool. Especially since I didn't want to lose my new job. I was so busy that day that I had to work through my break that I didn't have a chance to call Joseph. I didn't worry about it much since I told him that if I didn't call him I'd see him the next day. And from that thought I was smiling again and was able to work faster and close up the store and head home. I was so tired. It had been a long Friday. I was relieved knowing that I was going to be hanging out with Joseph the next day. Even though I was nervous I didn't let it get the best of me.
