HERE WE GOOOO

Part 1

I lay still on the warm sand, picking the grains up and letting them seep out of my fingers. I was listening to pandora when California king bed by Rihanna came on. I listened tentatively to the lyrics: "How come when I reach out my finger, it feels like more than distance between us..."

I don't know why, but music just speaks to me. Whenever an artist reaches a high note, I shiver. I never hear anything so beautiful. I like the other side to Rihanna.

She's has a quite "slutty" side to her, but she can write a song with such meaning, that it sends tingles down your spine. California king bed really shows how different she is than how people interpret her to be.

I'd started to doze off when I heard someone yelling. I opened my eyes and took off my sunglasses to see my best friend Anita. I hadn't seen her in a long time so I jumped from my seat and bounded over to her. My wavy dirty blonde hair bouncing up and down. She was finally here! I was never as happy to see someone than I was to see Anita.

"So how has Cali been girl?" Anita asked.

"It's been great, UCLA is a great school! I have a good group of friends, my house is a short walk from the beach so I practically live on it. And I got a cute kitty named Poncho," I exclaimed,

"Oh and I updated my wardrobe," I added.

"Wow Cassidy! Sounds like you're living the dream."

I laughed.

"It's not as amazing as it might sound. I still have a lot of schoolwork and a job as a waitress at the Café down the road. But for some reason I just fit in here."

"Cassidy, of course you do. You love the ocean, summertime, dancing, and music. Here is where it happens, where you could get signed. All you have to do is put yourself out there so the world can see what a talent you have!"

"Anita, you just don't understand. It's not that easy. The only dancing I do is at school functions or for fun with my friends, and you know I can't sing."

"Sure it is Cassidy, you're just in denial! Why can't you understand you have a gift? Don't you have talent shows at your school?"

I ignored her question, knowing it would only lead to further questioning.

She didn't object.

"Let's just go back to my mine so I can show you around. Does that sound alright?" I asked, desperate to change the subject.

"Yeah, that'd be great," She smiled.

The short walk to my house was fun. I know, how could a walk be so entertaining?

Well imagine not seeing your best friend for almost a year and a half, there was loads to talk about.

She told me all about how she was majoring in architectural design at Tech, and how she was trying to update her style, along with getting a chance to really let loose for a month or two here in Cali.
