"Are you sure this is a safe idea Nyx?" A young girl says at the black haired boy in his early teens. Nyx was walking wth his young sister, Rui. "I'll be right back." He says running down the forest as he spotted a red rose. "A-Ah!?" The boys tone faded as he yelled. "B-Brother!" She screamed out, her eyes overflowing with tears as she was lost in the foggy forest. She was with her brother, until she was separated as he disappeared. Eventually, Rui stopped falling to her knees, wiping her tears. Trembling, she was in fear hopelessly weak and defenseless.
Faint growling came from above the trees, she of course was scared. Cougars from above locking their prey on the child. Her brown long hair was fairly messy as she finished wiping her remaining tears, she was the age of ten. She heard the Cougars. Rui didn't know but grab a large dull stick and look around.
One of the large Cougars pounced down, with out a notice, a long white haired male around in his late teens was in front of her, with a steel spear. It pierced the animal as blood formed to the ground. The boy pulled his weapon away as the cougar dropped dead, as the others flee. "It's not safe for a little girl like you to be around here.." He says as his Crimson yellow eyes narrowed, staring down at her. His attire was somewhat a black sleeve rolled flannel, black pants, and a blood red tie, with black dress shoes.
"Have you seen my brother? He has black hair.." Her voice trembled.
"Hm? That reckless boy? He's gone.."
"..." She was silent as tears slowly ran down her cheek. "Why didn't you go after him.." She mutters as she was now in pain. "Why! Why didn't you do that!" She yells, sobbing uncontrollably.
He kneels down patting her head,"I was late.. I'm sorry." She responds trying to comfort the little girl. "I'm Akin, you are?" He questions trying not to look scary like he already was.
Akin then struggles to smile, so it came out as a weak creepy smile. 'Shit.. I guess I'm scaring her..' He says in his head as he wiped his sweat away off his head.
Slowly looking up, she finished wiping her eyes once again. "I-I'm Rui.." She replies spotting his odd smile, she giggled a bit as she stared at his smile,"Your hair is white.. Is it natural?" She questions as she reached out trying to touch his hair. Before she can finally reach, Akin moved his Head away. Rui's hand was next to the frosty white haired boy's face. "It's nothing for you to care about, get back to the orphanage. Down the path behind you, to the right." Akin's pale face was brushed with light pink dust blush. "Now be a good youngster and go back for me." He smiled.
Rui nodded, "I will, I hope we meet again..." she uses her sleeve, wiping her excess tears. As she turned, Akin stood up from his crouching position and placed his hand on Rui's shoulder,"Here." He dropped a golden diamond studded pocket watch. "If we meet again..." His voice softens, dropping the watch in Rui's skirt pocket. Giving Rui a light nudge, he chuckled,"Farewell."
"W-Wait.." She turned around to talk to Akin once more. He disappeared, and was gone. She reached into her pocket, grabbing the watch,"I'll protect this like Nyx protected me.." Rui proceeded to walk back to the orphanage, putting the valuable back in her pocket.
Hours have passed.. and passed.
"Rui! Say hello to your new foster parents." A middle age woman says, organizing the papers. "Me? Adopted? What about my brother?....." Rui questioned. "What brother? You never had one." The staff of the orphanage was getting really confused. "Anyways, say hello to Lisa and Allen. They're your new mother and father."
