It was almost dawn when I woke and went to my baths. Today was the day that I was getting married.
“Today is one of the most important days of my life, next to my coronation. I wonder why Aye hasn’t told me the name of the maiden that I’m to marry yet.” I thought to myself as I finished getting ready for the day. I then traversed my way through the seemingly endless hallways of the Malkata Palace to the dining hall where my vizier, Aye waited.
“My lord, I’ve been waiting” the old man smirked as he bowed before me and then put his hands on my strong 17 year old coppery skin.
“When will my bride-to-be be here?” I asked as I sat down and started eating
“Shortly after breakfast, so you better hurry or you’ll miss her” he replied as I looked into his cold, dark eyes and shivered.
“What is her name?”
“Iset”
“A beautiful name for a beautiful goddess” I muttered to myself. I had seen her while I was touring Egypt looking for a suitable second wife. Once I had found Iset, her parents and Aye set up a date and the plans for the wedding. When I had met them they never mentioned her name, probably ordered by Aye.
After breakfast Aye put me in the throne room to wait for my fiancé. 20 minutes of silence past till I heard multiple footsteps, mixed with a range of voices and they were heading for the door, so I got up and went over to the door. Once the voices and the footsteps stopped, a few mere moments, which felt like a life time, passed before I finally caved and opened the door. Standing before me, in the doorway, was Aye whose eyes seemed to bear right to my very soul, Iset’s parents, and right in between them was the most beautiful woman that I’d ever seen, and I could manage to do was smile at her as she bowed. As I had found out from her parents, she was 16, and was very shy, but sweet. As she stood before me now, I took in her features more closely then I could before. She had very soft, copper skin, but it was a few shades lighter then my own. Her eyes were a beautiful light brown that sparkled when I looked at them, and as we spent more time that day I found out that I made her blush quiet often when I directed my full attention to her, I thought it was cute.
A few hours later Iset and I were finally wed and were sitting on a bench alone, and I watched my beautiful new wife as she fidgeted with her dress
“How was your morning?” I asked, finally breaking the silence.
“Good, how was yours?” she asked shyly as she peeked up at me from behind her little curtain of hair, which I moved behind her ear
“Longest morning ever, that is, till I meet you” I muttered as I tenderly kissed the base of her chin.
“Oh” she flushed.
At dinner that night I felt like I couldn’t stop staring at Iset’s features, especially her eyes. When she realized that I was looking at her, she glanced up at me and blushed deeply and I scooted in closer, “Iset, I are you happy to be here with me?” I asked as I slipped my hand onto hers
“I-I” I stuttered, before she could continue I put my finger on her lips
“Shh,” I whispered as I leaned in and ever so tenderly kissed her, a moment or two, she kissed back. Just then Iset’s parents burst in the room with Aye not far behind yelling at them
