Mae

I press myself up against Jerome as we walked through the mall, teenagers often looking at Him and gawking. Clutching my bag, I ignore the stares people leave at the back of my head. I'm not sure if they guessed I was his sister.

Or they thought I was his girlfriend.

"When will we get to game stop to meet up with your friends?" I sigh, fitting my hands into the pockets of my Dark, grey, hoodie. He looks down at me, motioning with his eyes to look forward. Stubbornly, I look to where he's staring. Large letters in white and red over a shop read, 'GameStop.' Of course.

"Well then. I should've guessed that was GameStop since there is a bunch of people crowding your friends. And the sign... Big giveaway..I'll.. Um..be looking at the games while you 'socialize'" I slip past everyone and go into the D.S section. I don't really have money for a better D.S but eh.

Skimming the wall, I pick out a game called, 'Drawn to life, the next chapter.' The title seemed interesting, so I tucked it under my arm and went over to the play station section. Eventually, I turned to look over my shoulder, watching as my brother laughed with his friends. My acquaintances.

I rather not make friends. They lie to you. They Manipulate you. Three words: can't be trusted. Simple. Like I always say, "the only friends you need is your dreams, family, and yourself." Those people you can trust. Not exactly the family sometimes, but hey, they keep you sane.

I turned away as Jeromes closest friend, Mitchell or 'Mitch' looked my way. Best friends. I rated them a 34% chance trustable in my journal of making it through relationships of any kind. Now, that's a best friend. I can always tell the journal my secrets, and yet, it never betrays me.

My acquaintances know better than to look into my journal. Jerome had made it clear as glass. 'If you look into anything of my sisters, I'll break you. Hokeyp?' I think in his voice. Stern yet playfully. I can trust Jerome with my life.

He understands what I'm going through and always makes sure I'm comfortable. Sometimes, he just doesn't realize anythings wrong. That's how good I cover it up. So he knows to leave me alone. Which I'm grateful for.

Before I know it, I bought Drawn to life the next chapter, Beyond two souls, and Pokemon Platinum. One goal in my life is to beat all the Pokemon games. One of my most favorite, anticipated goals. I thank the cashier and tap Jeromes shoulder. He turns to me questionably. "I'm done buying things. Can I go home?"

"Sure, but Mitch has to take you in his car. im driving home with the others later and he has a headache." I stare at him in disbelief but loosen up. At least it wasn't that Adam guy. He scares me. "Wait a minute, they're staying over at the house?" I whisper, looking over at Mitch quickly. He's sitting down on the floor, holding his head.

Jerome nods. "For two weeks. Tomorrow, they bring in their change of clothes. And please do me a favor, Mae. Two favors. One, you need to choose which one of them sleeps in your room on the couch by the window, and two, be nice." I groan quietly, but reluctantly nod.

"Fine Jerome. Can I choose now?" I already know exactly who I want. Mitch. I knew him longer and I feel more comfortable when it's him. Not like that Adam lunatic. Geez. Before he says a yes, I answer quietly. "I choose Mitch." He shrugs, and leans Down to Mitch, who tiredly looks up. Moments later, I watch as my brothers best friend nods slowly, and gets up.

"See you later kiddo. Tell me if he looks around so I can break him," Jerome chuckles, patting my back. I weakly smile, and walk over to Mitch. "Hi," I say quietly, looking down at my shoes. "Hey Mae," he answers, his jaws clenched in an effort to take away the headaches pain. "Lets go." I walked alongside him as we headed to his car.

As soon as we arrive at the car, I slide into the back seat, reading the back sides of my new bought games to keep things from being awkward. Mitch, slowly starts to car and makes his way towards me and Jerome's house.

30 minutes later

Mitch parks in the driveway, getting out of the car, and closing the door quietly. I do the same, not wanting his headache to get worse. Fumbling for the keys, I eventually manage to unlock the front door and go inside. "Do you.. Know where I'm sleeping tonight?" He mutters tiredly.

"One of your other friends had to sleep in my room, so I guess you are.. You going in there now?" I say quietly. "Yeah.. Can I take a nap?" I nod, "only if your fine with me playing on my D.S" he laughs softly. "It's your room."

I open the door into my room, Mitch following, and sit down on my bed. He collapsed onto the couch with a low groan and puts the pillow over his head. Keeping my eyes on him, I quickly reach over to my journal and flip to the page my pencil was kept. My brothers friends trust ratings. I scan the list until I find Mitchs name. 48% just as I had thought. I erased the percentage and wrote 67%

He's not that bad I guess. After all, he was the one I chose. He's trustable. Somewhat.

I threw the journal under my bed and got my Dark blue D.S. I took out Drawn to life the next chapter from its case and pressed it into the slot. Sighing, I leaned back down into my bed and looked over at Mitch. I'm pretty sure he's asleep about now.

Another time skip to about two hours because I can

I shut my D.S and looked at the clock hung over my Tv. It's been two hours and Jerome still hasn't came back yet. I'm starting to think that he got himself drunk. I sat up and looked back over to Mitch. He was still sleeping. "I gotta admit.." I said to myself, standing up. "He's pretty cute when he's sleeping." Did I seriously just say that?

"Oh really?" A muffled voice drowsily asked from across the room. I really need to get that habit of saying things randomly out of my system. "Mitch? What the freaking hell?" I muttered, walking over to him. He looks up from the pillow, his eyes drooping. "You really think I look cute while sleeping?" He smirks. In a tired, 'I-just-woke-up-from-a-nap-and-dont-need-crap-from-anyone sort of way.

"I never said that. You don't have proof.." This had probably been the first day I ever talked to one of Jerome's friends so much. It feels good. Kinda. "Proof my butt. I know what you said."

Does this boy give up?

"I totally didn't say anything like that" I stubbornly reject, crossing my arms. He looks at me amusingly. "Sure..." He turns away toward the window and stares out at the tree in the yard, scanning the sky. "When is Jerome gonna get back?" He mumbles, sitting up.

"You sound like a child waiting for their mother." Why the hell am I still talking to this guy? Does my conscience trust him more than I think? Wait.. But your conscience.. Jeez I'm thinking too much ahead of this. "Well aren't you a hoot?" He jokes, looking back over at me with an entertained smile. "Why am I even talking to you.." I ask myself loudly, walking into the living room.

"Your talking to me cause you started it, saying I look so hot and dreamy while sleeping. Don't you think that sounds a little stalkerish?" He answers, stumbling into the living room after me. "Congratulations Mitch, you just took something I said and made it sound stalkerish. Round of applause for you.." I groan annoyingly, getting a controller to play black ops 2.

"Aha! So you did say I looked cute while sleeping!" He triumphantly shouts, pointing toward me dramatically. "Why are we still talking about this? AND WHY CAN'T I STOP TALKING!!!??" He shrugs and sits down next to me, getting another controller. "I'm playing too. LEEEZZZ GO!"

Dear god, why couldn't you have come here when this guy was still sleeping Jerome?
