Kellin

It was so cold that my lips had turned blue from the low temperature, and it didn't help that I wasn't wearing anything but a threadbare, old shirt and some underwear- how do humans, or werewolves, even deal with this?

Ever since I had woken up about three moon-rises ago, I'd been walking around, trying to find a place to stay but with no such luck. I was way too weak to go anywhere further than the tree line. I knew what this meant- I really was free, even though I was a rogue now, The only downside was that I knew just one person from the land, but he lived too far for me to go to him. There was no way I'd make it that far with the large cut in my side and half a broken arrow in my leg. I winced at the feeling of something brushing against the wound on my leg. I didn't need to be a healer to know that both of my wounds were infected, but I did know that if I didn't find civilization soon then I was going to die. I was taken out of my thoughts by a whine, then a voice.

"Jack, don't tease me. You know I hate it," the first voice whined, and I followed the sound, hiding slightly behind a tree when I saw two figures. One of them was pouting at the slightly taller one with what looked like annoyance. The taller guy with the blond streak in his hair just wrapped an arm around the brunette and kissed his cheeks, making my eyes widen and cheeks stain pink. I'd only ever seen my father do that to my step-mother when I was serving them food. Suddenly the brunette's eyes landed on me, getting the attention of his partner before they both turn towards me. I backed away as fear started to overtake me. I took off running as fast as I can, trying to get away quickly. A scream left me when I felt someone grip my arm and pin me to the rough bark of a tree. I was shaking, whimpers escaping my mouth from the tight grip on my arm. Then I realized that I really didn't have the energy to move anymore, so I settled for letting my body go limp.

"Hey, it's okay, calm down," a voice said to me as the grip on my arm lessens, making me let out a little breath. I slowly opened my eyes, observing the guy who was holding me down. The brunette behind him looked at me curiously, staring at me with his brown eyes. They filled with worry when he noticed some of the blood that was staining my shirt, the fading bruises that patterned my neck and arms, and the wound that adorned my leg.

"Can you understand me?" the brunette said, and I nodded carefully, flinching a little when he tries to touch my leg. I jerked closer to the tree despite the pain that flooded my body.

"Jack, he's injured, and I doubt he has any idea of where he is," the brunette said gently," Let's just take him back to Vic. You know he doesn't respond lightly to trespassers." The taller of the two, Jack, apparently, moved to scoop me up into his arms, which caused me to squeak in surprise and cling to his shoulders to avoid falling.

They began to walk in the opposite direction of the field, and silence and tension are thick in the air as we journeyed towards our destination. I could tell that they were really wanting to know where I had come from.

"What's your name?" Jack asked, keeping his eyes in front of him, his voice low as though he was talking to someone delicate and fragile. Then again, I was both of those things.

"K-Kellin," I murmured tiredly, my eyes beginning to close as the exhaustion finally caught up to me. For the rest of the walk, I slept for the first time since I arrived on land.

My eyes fluttered open, and I whimpered a little, taking in the fact that I had a bright light shining on my face and hazel eyes staring directly into my bright blue ones. She had bright, neon green braids in her hair and a metal hoop that pierced her nose. At first she looked a little intimidating, but then she smiled at me, giving me friendly vibe.

"Hiya there, how do you feel?" She asked me in a thick Australian accent. I smiled a little in return, trying to show that I felt better, and I really did; my side and leg felt so much better than before. I couldn't feel any pain, but I knew that they were still there.

"My name's Jenna. I promise you'll be okay. Now let's get you into something comfortable, okay?" Jenna said, helping me sit up before handing me a pile of clothes. She smiled at me once more before leaving the room that I was in. I slipped on the clothes, blushing a little at the fact that there was a pair of pink panties, but it felt better now that my body was healed and clean. My hair was a little damp, meaning that it hadn't been too long ago when I had been bathed. Carefully, I slid off the side of the bed and walked over to the door, my feet gently tapping across the wooden floors. I reached for the knob, twisting it slowly and opening the door. I poked my head out to see Jack, the brunette guy from earlier, and Jenna having a serious conversation. I cleared my throat, catching their attention. They all turned to me, making me blush and wrap my arms around my body, looking down at my feet shyly.

"Kellin, it's time for you to meet the pack leader," Jack said, and I felt my heart rate pick up. I was scared and definitely unprepared to meet one of the land people that I feared almost as much as my family- a dominant wolf, an Alpha.
