I watched as Jenna and Justin walked over, a frown getting ready to take shape on my lips when I didn't see Kellin. It was only moments later, before I began to worry, when I caught the familiar scent of my little mate and smiled. He was hiding partially behind Justin, and it made me want to coo at his cuteness. Unfortunately all I could focus on was my mate's hands in another male's, making my wolf growl in jealously. I was tempted to growl too, but I didn't want to scare my precious angel, so I held back and just settled for clenching my teeth together.

"Noli timere, quia ego promitto valebit. Nemo enim potest hic (Do not worry, I promise that you will be fine. No one can judge you here)," Justin whispered in Kellin's ear, and I suppressed another growl. I was tempted to walk over there and mark Kellin, but I didn't know what was going on, so I stayed put.

The blond Gamma was blocking my view of Kellin, but when he moved away, my eyes immediately locked onto the petite boy. He was in a black one piece swimsuit, yet that wasn't what caught my attention- it was the thin, silvery scars that covered nearly every inch of his legs. I hadn't noticed that before, and it made me angry that someone would ever do that to him. Walking over, I placed my hand gently on his arm, catching the attention of the beautiful boy, who looked up at me with big eyes and a pink blush in his cheeks; could he be any cuter?

"Hey, you'll be fine, mi rosa pequeña," I assured him, and he smiled softly, slipping his small, pale hand into mine. They fit together perfectly, like two pieces of a puzzle. I led Kellin to the stairs of the pool. He squeaked, surprised by the temperature of the water, but quickly got over it and kept walking forward. The water stopped at his collarbones, but he was just floating now- mermaids had naturally buoyant bodies to maneuver their way through the water.

"T-this n-nice," Kellin stuttered, looking up at me. Our hands were still connected underneath the water's surface.

" C-Can c-change?" he asked me. His broken English made my heart hurt because it's just that adorable. I nodded, and he let go, swiftly moving towards the deepest part of the pool. He closed his eyes in concentration, and a dull blue light began to emit from his lower half. I was amazed at the sight of the light moving down his thighs, legs, and feet. They began to elongate, joining together and sprouting pale blue scales that turned into a rich sapphire blue. His small feet grew and connected at the heel, forming a magnificent blue tail that was about the length of my legs, but apparently that wasn't over just yet. The light jumped upwards, curling around his neck, but dissipating just as quickly as it had appeared, revealing a necklace that had a pale pink pearl in the middle. Kellin looked truly stunning; his hair had gaining light blue highlights and a shell bracelet was around his wrist. I whistled, making him blush before he suddenly dived underneath the surface, swimming away from me. Suddenly I felt a tug on my swim trunks. Looking down, I saw his elfin face look up at me with a playful gleam in his eyes before he giggled silently and swam away, flicking water at me, making me growl playfully.

"Come here, you little minx," I chuckled, diving underneath the surface. My eyes locked onto my mate, who was on the other side of the pool, before he darted away. For a second I just stared at him, looking at the way Kellin moved elegantly, with his arms held to his sides as he expertly twisted through the pool around Justin and Jenna. Soon it became a game of Catch-The-Kellin, but he was more cunning than we thought, despite his timid demeanor. One thing I had forgotten was that merpeople were a type of elemental, so it was safe to say that Justin and I were taken completely off guard when he sent a wave that knocked us over with a loud splash.

"C'mon Kells! That's unfair!" Justin complained, but Kellin just giggled mischievously. It was the most beautiful sound I had ever heard, like a shimmering bell, just so pure and sweet that I wanted to put him in my pocket and keep him safe forever. Eventually, Jenna and Justin gave up and were chatting, lying in the pool chairs while Kellin was in my arms, with my hands resting against his waist and his back against my chest. I enjoyed this; it felt so right, so natural as he played with my fingers. I rested my chin on top of his head, taking in his sweet scent once again.

'He's beautiful, truly beautiful,' Riven said quietly, and I mentally nodded in agreement.

'He's very beautiful, but I don't think anyone has told him so. He doesn't know just how stunning he really is,' I replied. I wanted to kill whoever hurt him so badly; I wanted to see them suffer so much. They deserved to rot in Hell for what they had done to my baby. I growled mentally, and Riven shook his big head, scolding the cruelty of merpeople. For an Alpha wolf, he could be quite a mother, but it was a bond that we shared. After all, he was much older and wiser than I was, given that I was only twenty-two years old.

'I understand how you feel, but that would not be such a good idea. As much as I want to help you, I cannot allow that. Our mate needs love, care, and protection right now; we can take care of the others later. We have just found him and showing him the gentle side of us could help nurse his emotional and mental wounds. This one has seen much pain, death, and hate. His spirit is distraught, and I can sense how much he needs someone, needs us. We should not use violence at this moment, only when needed,' Riven reasoned, and I huffed a little; I couldn't stand him sometimes. His logic had put me to shame many times, and sometimes I honestly got confused on who's the wolf and who's the host.

"Y-you m-make h-heart f-flutter. W-why?" I heard Kellin mutter quietly, but instead, I just held him closer. We sat there in silence, enjoying our own little world for the rest of the afternoon. I couldn't deny that I was falling for this boy, and I was falling hard.
