Chapter 25: Don't let that shit bother you

*Jade's P.O.V.*

Ashley and I rejoined the group upstairs as they were about to play Cards Against Humanity.

"Hey, you guys wanna play?" Andy asked.

"Yeah, give me some cards." Ashley said, sitting with them.

"What about you Jade?" CC asked.

"Umm, I'll just watch." I said.

"Okay, does everybody have cards?" Andy asked.

"Yup." Jake said.

They were sitting in a circle on the floor. I decided to sit next to CC and Ashley.

"Alright, I'll go first." CC said.

They started playing the game and there were some funny cards being put down.

"Alright, what is batman's guilty pleasure?" Andy said, reading the card.

Everyone laughed.

"Of course you would get that card." Juliet said.

"Yeah, I know." Andy said, laughing too.

Everyone had put their cards in and Andy began reading them.

"Ok, what is batman's guilty pleasure?" Andy said.

He read the cards and we all laughed at the responses.

"Okay, I've gotta go with this one." Andy said, holding up the card.

"Yes!" CC said.

Andy handed him the black card and CC put it with his others.

"I'm almost at 6 guys." CC said.

"Wait, has anyone been checking on the food?" I asked.

"Oh shit!" CC said, immediately running to the grill.

We all laughed.

"Hey, CC, I checked on them a little while ago so they shouldn't be too bad." Jake said.

"Okay, good. I totally forgot about them." CC yelled from outside.

We all chatted for a little until CC came back in.

"Alright everyone. Food is done, let's just say I won so we can end the game." CC said.

"Okay." Jinxx said.

We all got up and went into the kitchen to get food. I was last in line because I wasn't really hungry. Everyone had gotten their food and went into the living room to talk and watch tv. I was still in the kitchen and decided to just sit at the table. I didn't really want to mingle around and be sociable. I just sat and looked around CC's kitchen. After a little while, CC walked back in.

"Hey, what are you doing here all by yourself?" He asked.

"I don't know." I said, shrugging my shoulders. "I just didn't really want to talk to people."

"Why not?" He asked.

"Well, everybody's just gonna say the same thing. Oh how are you adjusting to your new home? Do you like it? Blah blah blah." I said, getting a little frustrated.

"Well, they just wanna know how you're doing." CC said.

He sat next to me at the table.

"I know but, I just don't wanna talk about it." I said.

"Why not, is something wrong?" He asked.

I sighed. I think CC knew something was up when he saw me and Ash outside. He wrapped his arm around my back.
