A shiver went down my spine. The tingling sensation never leaving as I walk through the harsh rain. Droplets of water splashed the top of my head and trickled down my forehead. I need to get home, the sensation of being followed never wavering.

I clutched to my side bag with dear life as the winds piped up to hurricane like speeds. Pulling my hood up over my head for the tenth time, I decided to walk with longer strides.

I don't know where this absurd amount of weather came from, we rarely get tropical storms. Scratch that, we never get tropical storms.

I peeked at the watch on my wrist, reading the time. It was five minutes to eight, meaning I had five minutes to get home before curfew.

Drenched head to toe, looking like I had been dunked in a body of water, I opened the front door. But instead of being welcomed by my loving parents and the faint, sweet smell of roses that scented the air, an explosion occurred and the house beside mine laid to waste.

My ears were ringing and my eye sight faltering. The colours red, orange and black appearing back and forth, muddling up my eye sight. All I could think about was my family. My twin sister, mother and father. My three pet guinea pigs and fat cat.

Another explosion went off, this time it was my house. I was pushed back into a tree by the impact it had and I watched as a row of explosions demolished my neighbourhood like giant fire crackers.

Screaming and sirens were muffled by the occurring explosions, that had seemed to move onto the following neighbourhood.

My vision stirred, and everything went black.

...10 years later...

I was running, running for my life. I took in heavy breaths, my muscles ached and the searing pain was unbearable.

I wanted to stop, I felt like I was going to throw up. But if I stop now I risked being captured.

I looked back, the two burly men were following me like I was prey. There was quite a distance between us, I was lighter and fitter and had been running for half of my life.

I was a thief. A black cat.

I was part of the rebellion group called the Order of Light. Made by the founders 10 years ago, we are here to wipe out the invaders. Send them running back with their tails in between their legs.

I turned a sharp right, I was running through a dark alleyway. The light was dim and I could hardly make out a thing. I continued to sprint down the lane, the cobbled ground harsh on my feet. I looked behind me, the men had disappeared from my sight.

Was it safe to stop? I slowed down my pace so I was jogging, I then glanced behind me one final time to check if the men weren't back. Good thing for me they were no where in sight, I must have finally out run them.

I continued jogging until I came past a rusty, metal door. I came to a halt, catching massive gulps of air. I doubled over, my body ached everywhere, but I had to endure, I still wasn't safe.

I checked the building the door was apart of, the windows were boarded up and the building looked unused and abandoned. A great place to hideout for the next couple of hours.

I touched the door handle, the coldness stung the tips of my fingers as I grabbed the handle and opened the door. It took a good amount of strength to open the door properly, it squeaked implying that the door needed to be oiled.
