Midnight Memories

Chapter 1

Aina Miller's POV

It was just another day as I finished my work, cleaning everything up before I leave, and when I finished I locked up all the the doors and walked home.

It felt very unusual that night it seemed so quiet, and there wasn't any vehicle passing by and I felt like someone was following me, I got nervous and started running, as soon as I was there in front of my house, as I reached for the handle I heard a girl scream then I realized it was my mom I quickly ran inside and found my dad lying down bloody, lifeless on the floor and my mom was beside him crying, my jaw dropped and tears started streaming down my face I asked, "Mom, what happened here? What happened to dad?" as I started crying. "There was this man who came in our house all he said was 'Revenge' which I don't clearly understand." She continued sobbing.

I panicked and called the ambulances and police, and I also thought to myself that what does that 'revenge' have to do with my family, with me? I didn't understand it either. I finally heard sirens closer and closer, I still hoped my dad would make it through even though I knew that it wasn't possible. I went outside to check if the ambulances were there, but then I heard a gunshot from the inside of my house.

I turned around to see my mom lying down on the floor, covered with blood, lifeless as well beside my dad. I fell to the ground because I knew I was alone, I didn't have any relatives here in Australia, Where would I go?

The ambulances and cops came, I watched as my mom and dad got placed in a stretcher. I ran up to the nurse and asked, "May I go with them, please?" The nurse frowned and said "Sorry sweetheart you can't, you have to stay and talk with the police. Don't worry we'll take care of your parents."

I gave the nurse a weak smile, the cop behind me called me, "Excuse me, Ms. Miller I would like to have a few words with you." I nodded

The cop asked, "Do you have any other relative here in Australia you could stay with?" I shook my head, I was worried because I was alone, no one would be there for me or when I needed someone to talk to. When I looked at him again, I saw it in his eyes he felt sad and worried for me, "Well look here hun, i would try to look at your families records if you have anymore relatives you could stay with." I nodded and gave him a smile.

The police went inside my house and found a journal with all contacts with my relatives such as my uncles, aunts and cousins. He signaled me to come close he asked where would I like to stay. I was browsing over the list they were from Canada, New Jersey and UK. I've always wanted to go to UK so that's what I pointed. He told me the government would pay for my expenses and will book my flight tomorrow morning. I gave him a huge smile, I was thankful there were still people like him around.

For the mean time I slept alone in my house, scared and I didn't know what might happened next.

Next Day

Aina Miller's POV

Another day, except it was different. I'm alone. It feels so different being alone, no one greeting you, no one to be there for you, no one to spend time with, basically I have nothing left in my life.

I called the hospital to check on my parents, "Hello, is this St. Mary's Hospital? I would like to ask about the condition of Mr. and Mrs. Miller. This is their daughter speaking." I said in a weak soft voice. "Ah.. Well I give you my apologies because your parents were considered dead on arrival. I'm sorry for your loss." I started crying over the phone and gave her a weak "Thank you." and ended my call.

I curled up to a ball with my knees on my chest with my arms wrapped around. Now I could officially say i'm alone. Forever.

The police officer texted me

"Condolences, I heard what happened. The government approved your flight details to UK and you're staying with Mr. Wilson, your uncle. Your flight is at 10am this morning. Pack your things! Call me anytime you need somebody to talk to!"

After I read his message, I felt happy that I knew that someone was still there for me.

I packed up all my things, I went inside every room to check if it was clean, I went in my parent's room I remembered all the memories we had spent together. I wish I could rewind time and redo things again but I can't. I just can't.

I got out of the house, took one last look at my house where I have spent the most of my time with my family and headed to the airport.

When I checked the time it was 9:20am! I might miss my flight. I ran as quickly as I can to the counter when I suddenly bumped a guy, he didn't even apologize, he kept running so probably he was in a hurry as well. I picked up my handbag and continued running, luckily I was just on time. I got in my plane and sat down on my assigned seat. I suddenly heard some girls screaming, then I saw some 5 guys walked in. It was Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinso- wait, I think he's the guy I bumped earlier because he's wearing the same clothes, I watched as they all walked in front of me Liam and Zayn were beside each other, Harry and Niall sat beside each other and they were just in front of me! Then Louis sat down beside me.

"Good day." He told me with that cute smile I've always adored.

"Hello, you must be Louis Tomlinson from One Direction?" I asked with a smile. "Oh yes I am deary, what's your name?" he asked. "I'm Aina, Aina Millers." I smiled. "Ooh what a wonderful name." then he offered his hand, I took his hand and we had a handshake, I felt my heart skip some beats because it's such an honor to sit beside and shake hands with Louis Tomlinson.

Without thinking I accidentally fell asleep even if it was a one in a million chance I would ever be beside or at least near Louis Tomlinson again.

Louis Tomlinson POV

I think Aina is a very special person she's not like other girl, she isn't screaming, asking for pictures and a follow on Twitter but a picture wouldn't hurt so it's fine by me. When I saw her black straight hair falling on her shoulders and her brown hazel eyes words wouldn't come out of my mouth anymore. I think she's very beautiful and special. I would like to spend more time with her but I guess the management won't let me roam or play around since they think this new "Where We Are Tour" will become a hit, and they didn't want us to be distracted.

When Aina fell asleep, she actually fell asleep on my shoulders. I admired her beauty, she actually seems pretty cuter than usual which I thought wasn't even humanly possible.

I might actually like this girl.
