Lazari ran her nimble fingers over the strings of her bow.She imagined she was breathing her soul into the weapon, giving it strength, power. She slipped an arrow out of her quiver and stretched it back. With a breath, she released it.The arrow soared through the woods and stabbed the crude, she'd carved into a tree, right in the center. She grinned in approval, brushing her long, braided brown hair aside."At least you can short straight."A shiver crept up Lazaris' back. She turned around."Not as straight as you,of course."A small smile disobediently slipped on her face.
