***Alex's POV***

I woke up in a dark cold room. I looked around and couldn't recognize where I was. Suddenly it hit me; oh yeah, I'm in the TARDIS. It wasn't usual to wake up in a never ending spaceship. I got up from my bed and walked into the never ending wardrobe. I looked through clothing item after clothing item. I found a cute tee and jeans with a leather jacket. I pulled on my combat boots and walked out to the main "room" as it were. The Doctor was there fiddling with the console. "Do you ever  sleep?" I joked. "Not really," he said plainly. "Do you eat?" I asked. It was a fair question, he's an alien, I didn't know anything about him. "Yes Alex, I eat. Anything living eats in some way, shape, or form." "How am I supposed to know? You're from a whole other planet. I'm not exactly an expert on alien things." He just smiled and laughed. "Not many humans are," he said smugly. I stuck my tongue at him, making him laugh harder. I laughed too before walking back into the hallway. I walked around for what felt like forever, how could you find anything in here, it was a maze. Finally I looked into a random room, which just happened to be the room i was looking for, the kitchen. I looked around for something to eat.

We finally landed somewhere, after what felt like forever of drifting in space. I walked out after him into the chill air. "Wow, this planet looks a lot like Earth," i said softly. "That's cause it is. London, 1886," he replied. "More British people, fun times," i joked. "Yeah that tends to happen with me," he said confessingly. I looked down at my clothes and I suddenly realized that I probably didn't fit in with the crowd. "Should I change then?" I asked him. "No, you're fine... Well, maybe not." he replied. I went back inside and changed into something a little more fitting to the times. "Ahh beautiful, alright, off we go then." He said before turning, and off he went. I scurried to keep up.

It wasn't long until we ran into a small little girl, crying on the edge of the street. He almost didn't notice her, he was too busy messing with his sonic screwdriver. I knelt down and cupped her pale, dirty face in my hands. Her dirty blonde hair fell over my fingers. I looked deeply into her soft blue eyes, "Tell me love, what's wrong?" Almost like on a cue, the Doctor turned around and knelt beside me. I took his hand in one of mine and looked back at the girl. "Don't worry, you can trust us, I'm the Doctor, and this is my lovely assistant Alex," be introduced. I giggled, we were the perfect team. The girl smiled and spoke softly, "I'm Alice, I've lost my mummy." "Well I'm sure you'll find her beautiful, mommies are never too far away from their children," he reassures her. The girl nods and the Doctor stood up. I got up after him, "look, I know you're a big spacetime hero, but I need to help this little girl. She's obviously scared, I can't just let her sit here and cry. He just looked at me with no remorse on his face. "What did you think I was doing? Walking away? This girl needs help, and I'm the Doctor." I smiled wide in relief, "good."

The Doctor scanned the little girl with the sonic silently. "What are you doing?" I asked wondering why he would scan the child. "Scanning her dna, the sonic will pick up similarities, her parents. Her mum." I started to giggle, "mum," I said as I giggled more. "Are you making fun of my accent?" he asked. "Never," I replied, continuing to giggle. He shook his head as he laughed. "You're quite something, aren't you?" I smiled, "It's what I'm here for." The sonic started emitting a slow beeping sound. "Ah, allons-y!" "Haha Latin for Let's go, someone's a smarty pants." The Doctor looked at me with surprise. "What?" "No one ever seems to know that," he replies extremely satisfied. He stood up and followed the beeping. I followed right behind him, proud of my knowledge. Riahh was the one who taught me that, I really wish she was here. I shook the thought out of my name and tried to keep up with the Doctor.

"How close are we?" I asked. "I don't know, I think we're pretty far off." he replied. This scared me, how long would it take to find this girl's mom? I guess he saw the expression on my face when he said, "don't worry, we'll find her. I won't rest until I do." My face softened, I even smiled. This is the kind of hero the world needs, the universe needs. Suddenly, the sonic started beeping louder and faster. The Doctor grabbed my hand and said, "run." I did as he asked, I didn't have much choice anyway since he had hold of my hand. We ran for what seemed like hours. "Can't we just be there already?" I complained. "Sure, lemme use my magic dust to take us there," he replied sarcastically. "Hey, I never know, you're an alien who travels through time and space, TIMELORD!" I came back proudly. He did there and smirked at me, which in reaction, caused me to blush.

The Doctor turned around and walked towards the beeps, no longer holding my hand. I slowly followed him him while looking at my hand, was it weird that I immediately missed his hand. Was it weird that I met an alien time traveler, ran off with him, and suddenly I don't care about the ex who just dumped me? Yeah, probably.

I was running out breath but we finally got to where the thing was supposed to be. I looked around, but I saw nothing. "What do we... we do now?" I asked breathlessly. "We find her," he replied. "Well obviously." The Doctor stared off at an old Victorian building, a house. It was painted eggshell white and had truly awful looking flowers planted in front. I started to walk towards it. "Oi! What are you doin'?" he asked. "Checking out the house you were staring at..." I continued to walk toward the house. I finally reached it I knocked on the door. After a couple seconds the door opened slowly. "What the f-"
