Just another day of being lonely.
I thought to myself.I kicked the footboard on her bed and buried her face into the mattress. I got up and opened my window.
I stared outside the window and looked outside.
We had just moved into a brand new house that my dad had had custom built. It was super big, which would've been fun if I wasn't so lonely all the time. I hadn't invited my friends from school over yet because I knew what they really wanted. They only liked me because they knew who my father was, and how successful my family was.
I sighed and brushed my bangs out of my face.
Maybe if I ask mother and father for the millionth time.....
"Might as well try"
I muttered to myself as I headed out of my bedroom and made my way downstairs.I ran into the big modern living room where my Mom and Dad were sitting down watching tv.
My mother looked beautiful as always with her long, blonde hair that fell over her shoulders like a waterfall. She had big, hazel eyes and was thin and of average height. She was wearing a stylish black dress with black heels that had little bows on the front which were also black.
My father was sitting next to her. He had short, wavy brown hair, which was slicked back to keep it out of his face and out of his violet eyes, he had a muscular build that was completely opposite of my mother.
He was wearing a white suit with a blue tie and some brown dress shoes. I just assumed that they were only this dressed up because they had barely gotten home from work.I looked at my parents. They seemed like the perfect couple, the kind that was bound to have lots of kids. However, that part sadly wasn't true. I was an only child, yet people said that I was the perfect mixture of both of them.
I had wavy blonde hair, and sparkling violet eyes, along with my mother's figure. My parent's friends often said that I had my dad's sense of humor and my mom's intelligence.
Why couldn't they have had more children?
I approached them and got ready to start talking.
"Mother, father I want~"
I was cut off by my mom.
"My lord Mitsuba you're still going on about this?!?!?! It's been what? 3 years since your first said you wanted a sibling?"I opened my mouth to reply to but was cut off by my father
"Lily, let her speak her mind"My mom replied with a hint of enragement in her voice
"But Yoru, don't you see if you give her everything that she wants you'll only manage to make her spoiled."Dad sighed
"Trust me on this once Lily, now Mitsu what were you saying?"I plastered on the brightest, cutest smile that I could muster.
"Well dad I want a sibling, I don't care if they're older I just want a sibling."
I said.Dad looked at me with a slight grin, while mom shook her head lightly.
"I need something to cool my head......Yuki!
Please bring me a drink."
Mom called for her one of our servants.A young man with brown hair and dark eyes came into the living room. He bowed in front of my mom.
"What would you like ma'am?"
She thought for a second
"Anything is fine, just make it something cold, and add extra ice please Yuki""I'll be just a minute ma'am"
Yuki said and headed for the kitchen.Once Yuki was gone she brought her hand to her forehead and slapped it lightly.
"Mitsuba!do you know how much work it is to have and take care of a child?!"
I shook my head
"I wouldn't know mom, after all, I don't plan to have a child until I am at least 30"Dad laughed at my response, however, mom wasn't impressed.
"Exactly, and you're saying that you want a sibling?"
Yuki came back into the living room with mom's drink on a tray. She grabbed the drink and dismissed Yuki.
"Lily, don't be so hard on her. Can you blame her? she is eleven after all, and she's never experienced what it's like to have a sibling."
Dad saidMom sighed and took a sip of her cold drink.
"Now, Mitsu why would you like a sibling?"
I looked up to meet my father's violet eyes."Well because, dad, all of my friends have one and I'm the only one that doesn't, I want to know what it's like, I get very lonely when my friends aren't around.....I just want someone that will always be there for me...
And mother you always tell me to do my best to change people's lives for the better. I want to change someone's life by giving them a family. That's why... That's why I want a sibling"
I said with tears in my eyes. That's why. Not everyone is lucky enough to even have a family... and I'm here all alone in this big house.
"You really want to adopt a sinking? You really really want that?"
I nodded. My dad smiled down at me and got up from where he was sitting on the couch.
"Well it's settled then, we'll adopt someone"
I smiled as I tackled my dad into a hug."Wait Yoru!!!! What are you saying?!?!?! We can't adopt someone!!!!"
My mom practically shouted."why not? we have more than enough money, besides what else are we gonna do with all the rooms in this big house?"
She sighed.
"Fine let's go but when they annoy you to death don't come crying to me"
Mom said setting her to drink down on the coffee tableFinally!!! I'm getting a sibling this is the best day ever!!!!
And with that, they left to the nearby orphanage to change someone else's life.
