The North Point was at the top boundary of Mirkwood. It had the best view, because Lazari could simply turn around and see all of Mirkwood. Lazari tied up Kio. Noko neighed anxiously. "I'll be at the west point," Jeff said looking around. Lazari gave him a puzzled look." Come if you spot anything. Dont try to kill a pack on your own please." He said in an exasperated tone. Noko neighed again, more agitated. Lazari slowly stepped towards the horse, her hand outstretched." Hush," she murmured, trying to calm the horse. She had a soft spot for animals of any sort, and could usually calm them. Jeff hopped off Noko his eyes distant. He was thinking. " What is it?" Lazari whispered, stroking the horse delicately. Jeff didn't answer. He climbed up the ladder that led to the look out point his movements swift and silent.  " Jeff...?" Lazari asked again more alert. She too scanned the woods. They were silent. She quickly tied up Noko and joined Jeff atop the tree. He was frozen. Staring off in the distance. She followed his gaze, and dread plummeted her stomach. A dark, black cloud was moving towards the edge of the woods, the front of the Mirkwood territory. Orcs. They were moving fast, at least 25 of them. " Come, we must send for help!" Jeff told her anxiously. Really, she wanted to climb down and just fight them with Jeff, but she knew they must act rationally. The Orcs were becoming bolder, moving down from the mountains. She could not risk the princes' life even as skilled a fighter as he was. The king himself had warned her to take care of him he said Jeff would listen to her. Lazari shook her head,"No, that will take too long. We must stand our ground to fight!" She began to climb down the post." Lazari, please. We are out numbered far to strongly," he insisted, following her down. The orcs were nearing. Their ugly snarls and growls could be heard, and the stench as well. "We are skilled enough. Orcs are foolish and rash.I haven't fought for days, Sally keeps me locked up studying for hours...." She explained, taking out arrows from Kios bundles. Jeff sighed. His mother had taken it his duty to educate Jeff like a scholar, and lately they'd been traveling to nearby villages to indulge in libraries. He longed to fight.Just being in the forest seemed like a treat." Fine, but this won't be an easy fight,"she warned him. Suddenly, an arrow whizzed by her head and struck on a nearby tree. She gasped and prepared her own arrow. Adrenaline pulsed through her body, and she bounced with excitement. She glanced at Jeff, and he grinned, a daring look in his eyes. They were here...
