The Beginning Of the End;
And this is the morning of her 14th birthday. It's 9:00 a.m. and her mother, Orene is crying on the floor. She asked what was going on wishing she hadn't. " Nicole your father...is not going to be home for a while." my mom said fighting back her tears. " Define a while mom, what happened." "Your father got drunk last night and made some decisions,he was arrested this morning, he won't be home soon." And those were the words thatmade my world collapse. Oh and along with that my grandpa said that i was no longer needed in his life. Two things changed my life eternally. 1. My father just got put into prison and 2. My own grandfather, said he no longer wanted anything to do with me.
High School here we
Everyone knows. Everyone stares. Everyone judges. This is by far the second worst day of my life. My best friend, Lorraine and me walk to first hour collecting glares from every single person we walk past. Great, freshman with father in prison.
Ever since middle school it'd been me and Lorraine. Yeah, sure i have a ton of friends but none of them add up to Lorraine.
The boy who changed my life.
I met my first love in Sixth grade. We dated on and off for three years. I loved him, until he ended up being a total douche but for old times sake lets take it back to the good times.

Walking to the door i knew something was up. His parents car was gone, which was extremely hard to believe but knowing how he was, i eagerly stepped into the door. Complete darkness. " Hello? Lee, come on." i said trying to sound irratated so he's come out. I decided to head up to his room to drop off my annivarsary present in which he though i forgot about. Inside his room i saw a note that read:
Dear my Nicole, take 15 steps forward then 2 back then go left for exactly 10 feet. I'll be waiting love you.
P.S. you look beautiful.
I smiled in shock because he's never gone all out like this. I followed the instructionsand found him awaiting in the dining room with a candle lit table. It was perfect but then....his doorbell rang. I opened it comfortably knowing he nor did his parents mind. There she was, skanky Renee looking as if i had a huge cut on my face. I looked behind me to see Lee running into the bathroom. At that point i knew exactly what had happened. Renee explained to me that she didn't know and a whole load of bullshit excuses. I simply threw the gravy on Lee's head and ripped Renee's new dress. A tad over dramatic, i know. But a girl has her reasons...My life felt as if it had left it's rotation.As i sat in my bed lying there crying for hours, and ignoring every single text or call i got from Lee. I remembered the exact day i fell in love with him.
We were sitting on his couch and his dad, jon came out and said " Lee what do you want?" I wasn't sure what he was asking but then lee simply smiled at me with that face of an angel and " Honestly dad, nothing. I have all i need sitting right beside me." Then he led me out to his haybail and we just layed there for a while talking about life ans sharing eachothers world and had our first kiss. From that moment on...i knew it would always be him, others may come in my life and out but i knew he would always be in my heart. Then six months later Renee came up. She was my friend. We weren't close but she was aware of me dating Lee. Long story short he cheated. Over time, we have always had a thing. We dated on and off for the next 3 year. Then,broke up after I made a dumb mistake of trusting him again. If you haven't guessed already, he cheated again. I knew he wasn't going to change, so I cut it off. Knowing, i would go back to him eventually, unfortunatly...he did too. So i decided to take a step away from boys and catch up on.
The summer of 19he came back into my life. I instantly remembered his cute little crooked smile, his dorky laugh, and all the reasons why i fell in love. One problem, His new girlfriend. Little did she know, i was constantly with him. Yeah, i know it sounds bad. I knew he had a girlfriend but love makes you do crazy stupid things. Anyways i kissed him technically he kissed me but whatever. The girlfriend found out and we were done. Once again he broke my heart, this time it was my fault.
Changes.
Blake Curtis. Born July 21st 2009. Two major changes. I now have a baby brother who cries. All.The. Time. Also, my parents are getting divorced. I guess the divorce shouldn't have hit me as hard as it did. With my dad in prison i guess my mom just wasn't happy. I hate her new boyfriend with a strong passion. He's a police officer and thinks he's the shit. Well due to his duties of being an asshole 9 hours a day were moving, to some small town. At first i was mad. Then, i realized i could get away from all the problems i was having (cough cough lee) but it also means moving about 60 miles away from my dad. Great right...
I hate mondays. Actually i hate everyday except fridays & saturdays. Today school was horrible but this weekend will not be. " No, they want us to come over to their house " Lorraine said with a smile on her face. " I'm not sure if i'm ready, i have so much shit going on right now. " "Nicole, stop. I understand your hurt from lee but really he has always been a player. cant turn a hoe into a house wife right? lorraine said trying to make me laugh. She always succeeded. " Fine, but don't you dare try to hook me up with anyone, i mean it." " Oh i won't" Lorraine replied with a smile that said of course i will.
So it's 7 on friday night. I have my hair done along with my make up. I honestly had no idea what to expect. Lorraine always got me into awkward situations. We walked into Kyles ( sydneys soon to be boyfriend) house. Then, I saw him. I had met him before. Before lee, i liked him. What a coincidence right? That's what i thought to. Of course being single we all played dumb little games to flirt. Then, Lorraine had a brilliant plan to play couples hide-n-seek. So here i am on top of a tree with James. " you look different" james said. " Oh uhhh thanks? " James laughed. " In a good way ". "Oh haha, " He kissed me. It was really surprising. I hadn't seen him in 3 years and the guy is trying to make moves like i know him, really know him. Somewhere deep down, I wanted him too. I knew it wasn't for the right reasons though. So i pushed him away and told him i had to go.
When we got to my house, Lorraine was full of questions. " what happened?, where were you guys? Do you like him". I tried to hide all the feelings that came rushing back as soon as i saw James but Loraine knew better. " Oh shut up i know you like him, your so easy to read. " "Lorraine, lee and i just broke up" I said trying to forget i even mentioned his name." well, were meeting up with them again tomorrow" Lorraine smiled. "LORRAINE!" I yelled knowing no matter what i said she would get her way. " shut up im trying to sleep"she laughed.
All night i started thinking about the next day. Finally it was the next day and i was getting ready to go hang with Jamesandaready ready with her blonde hair perfectly straight and make-up carefully applied. After several attempts to get my hair to straighten i grabbed my bottle of gel and scrunched my hair and put on my make-up. As soon as i finished and changed clothes they were outside honking their horn. " This is going to be awkward" I whipsered to lorraine. "
We got in the car and of course Lorraine left me in back with James while she and max sat up front. " You look beautiful " James smiled. Most girls would fall at those three words. Me, i guess I'm different." thanks....you smell good " He obviously thought this was funny. " Thanks " He added. "So max, where are we going anyways" " Down to Salino so we can go to the movies" max said. We finally got in the mall after what seemed like hours of constant small talk.
When i walked in the mall i saw a couple kissing. It was Lee and the girl he cheated on me with, Renee. I literally bursted into tears and ran to the bathroom. I expected Lorraine to be there, but when she didn't come i fought back the tears and walked out to find james. "are you okay?, what happened" James asked looking like he actually gave a shit.
