"I missed you," she breathes as I pull her closer. I put my hands on the back of her and pull her in for a kiss. I wished we would stay like this for ever. Engaged in a loving kiss. Without pulling away, we walked to my small house as I fumbled in my pocket for the key. This moment reminded me of when we were in Amsterdam.
"Sooo," she said awkwardly. "How's death like?" I thought about this for a few seconds, then answered:
"Boring. How was life?" I already knew the answer. I'd been watching her since I arrived.
"I met someone." She lied. I'd know. Isaac asked her out 4 years ago but she refused saying she couldn't see anyone; she was still mourning.
"Really?" I asked, grinning.
"Yeah." she answered. "His name was Miles. Miles Halter. He died last year. Suicide." I laughed. "What the fuck is your problem?" she demanded, obviously offended.
"I've been watching you everyday of my dead life. I've seen your whole life, like a movie or reality tv show." Now it was her time to laugh.
"Well you saw wrong," she said, leaving the house.
I got up after her, screaming her name as I ran after her. She seemed like she knew where she was going. Where would she go up here?
"HAZEL!" I called after her. "Where are you going!"
After what seemed like years, she stopped in front of a small house. When I caught up to her, I saw the sign on the house.
MILES HALTER.
My heart dropped.
