It was late in the afternoon, but the guild was just as rowdy as always. Half the guild was in a fight and the racket was starting to get on Laxus's nerves.
" I can't take this anymore, I'm heading home. Is that okay with you Freed?"
" Of course. I'll be home in an hour or two. I just need to help the master with some papers."
" Alright, I'll see you latter."
Laxus gave his boyfriend a light peck on the lips then left.

-two hour time skip-

All done, Freed thought with triumph.
I should head home now.
" Goodnight master, Mira."
" Bye Freed!" Mira waved.
" Goodnight, and thanks for your help," Makarov said.
" I'm always happy to lend a hand." And with that Freed left. He walked down the dark and empty streets of Magnolia alone. For some reason though he felt on edge, he felt as if he was being watched. He heard a crash behind him. He turned and his hand went to his sword. A trash can had been nocked over, but whoever, or whatever, had caused it was gone. All of a sudden he felt all of his magic energy wash away. What?! How is this possible?!
Then he remembered someone with the ability to cancel out another's magic.
" Obra," Freed growled, remembering what he'd done to Wendy.
There was a chuckle that echoed of the walls of the alleyway.
" Freed Justine, right?"
Freed spun round to see Ivan and the rest of Raven tail (minus Flare).
" Correct," Freed answered.
Crap, without my magic I don't stand a chance against them, Freed thought, annoyed.
Unless I'm abel to take out Obra with my sword alone I'm done for. Ivan wore an evil grin.
" Well then, your coming with us."
" Do you think I'm just going to go with you?"
" No, but we can kidnap you."
It's now or never, Freed unshieved his sword and lunged at Obra. He almost landed a hit when a blast of purple light threw him into the wall, causing Freed to drop his sword.
" You're fast, but not fast enough," Ivan said as he kicked Freed's sword away, and grabbed him by his collar, lifting him up.
He then continued to punch, and kick him, Freed being abel to do nothing without his magic or weapon.
Someone...please...help, he thought before he slipped from conciseness.

-time skip, next day-

When Laxus walked into the guild he had a worried look, which Makarov instantly noticed.
" What's wrong Laxus?"
" Freed. I can't find him."
Now Makarov was worried.
" What do you mean?"
" Last night I went to bed before Freed got home, this morning I woke up and he wasn't there. Then I thought he might be here, but..." Laxus clenched his fists," he's gone."
They both knew something had happened.
" Wait...what do you mean Freed's gone?!"
Happy yelled, shocked over what had over heard. His yell was heard by the rest of the guild, and now they were all looking at Laxus and Makarov.
" Freed left the guild hall last night, but he never returned home," Makarov explained.
" What do you think happened," Lucy asked worriedly.
" I hope he's okay," Max said.
" Come on, let's go look for him!" Natsu yelled.
" I never thought I'd say this, but Natsu's right," Grey agreed.
" We should search Magnolia, split up into teams."
And so with that everyone split into groups and started searching the town.

" Freed! Freed where are you?!"
" Would you quit yelling shrimp, I doubt you'll get an answer," Gajeel said grumpily.
Levy looked at him annoyed.
" At least I'm trying to find him."
" Hey, I'm just as worried as you are, but I feel like searching Magnolia is a waste of time. If he was here it be easier than this to find him."
" He does have a point," Juvia added.
Levy sighed.
" I know, I'm just...scared, is all."
" We're all afraid of what happened to him," Juvia said placing a hand on her fellow bluenett's shoulder. Levy and Freed were close. They could almost always be found in the library together reading, and talking about books. Gajeel sometimes spent time with them, giving him a chance to bond with the greenette. Despite first impressions, Juvia and Freed ended up hanging out with each other often talking over a few drinks. Fairy tail just wouldn't be the same without Freed. Out of the corner of Gajeel's eye he saw something glinting in the sunlight.
" What's that?"
He walked over and picked the item up. He froze. He'd recognise it anywhere.
" Freed's sword!" Levy gasped.
" Let's head back, we should tell the others," Gajeel instructed.
