For a living, you played instruments in front of people, practically every night. You would sing along with your band as well. This was something you had wanted to do since you were young. Finally, you were happy with where you were in life.
Tonight's gig was in Miami, you were really looking forward to it. The guests started to enter as you were setting up your acoustic guitar. Suddenly, a big group of people went at sat at a table just at the far left of the stage. They were all in business suits, which confused you, you rarely got people like that in here. As she stared, one of the men looked up. He was older than you, you could tell that much. He smiled at you and you smiled back shyly, before looking back at the cable.
"Got your eyes on someone?" laughed your band's drummer, Korina.
"No." you laughed nervously, "I don't even know him."
"I didn't know my husband before I started talking to him. That's how you meet people, Y/N." Korina responded.
"Whatever, Rina. I don't know him." you smiled.
"Yet." she laughed in response.
Soon the gig started, you played through several songs, especially your favourite. Over at the table, David was staring at you. He was mesmerised by your singing voice, it calmed him. Especially after such a stressful case. "You should talk to her." JJ smiled at David.
"What?" David asked, looking over confusingly at JJ.
"She works late, you work late, perfect." Emily smiled.
"Okay, maybe a bit far Emily." JJ laughed. "Already arranging his marriage."
"What? No one said anything about getting married!" David said.
"I know." JJ laughed. "We just want to see you happy David."
"Thank you." he sighed looking back over to you.
"Talk to her." JJ smiled. "Their break is coming up soon. Perfect time. And if she rejects you, which I doubt she will, at least you can say you tried."
"Okay." David nodded.
You placed your guitar down after a few songs and stepped back near the microphone. "We are going for a quick break, we will be back with our last few songs before the next band, in a few minute." you smiled then stepping away and coming off stage.
David got up as you stepped down, Emily and JJ pushing him towards you and walking off.
"Hello, my name is David Rossi. I was just wondering if we could talk?" he asked. He appeared rather awkward. He had definitely lost some of his charm over the years.
"Yeah, of course. My name is Y/N Y/L/N." you smiled shaking his hand and sitting at an empty table.
"So I was wondering if we could get to know each other," he said as he pulled out your chair for you to sit down.
"Sure." you smiled at him. "Thank you."
"So," he said sitting across from you. "Is this what you do for a living?"
"Yeah," you smiled. "I love music. Have done for years. What about you?"
"I am an FBI agent." he smiled. "I work at the B.A.U. My team is just over there." He pointed to his team, who smiled and waved at you.
"They seem really nice." you smiled. He smiled back, glad you weren't put off by his job.
"So, tell me about yourself." he smiled.
"Well, I work mostly. I do lots of gigs, I have to practise a lot for. I've been doing this professionally for 22 years." you smiled.
"That sounds amazing." he smiled.
You two spoke and joked around for the remains of your break. You stood up, once you saw your band walk back on stage. "I must go." you laughed. "Here's my number." you nodded handing him a piece of paper with your phone number on it.
"Thank you." he smiled. As you began to walk away he called you back. "Um, wait!"
"Yeah?" you smiled.
"Well, could we maybe go for coffee?" he asked.
"Like a date?" you asked.
"Yeah?" he smiled.
"Sure." you laughed, kissing his cheek and walking back on stage. Once you were setting up your guitar, David walked over to his team who were now cheering.
"See!" laughed JJ.
Your band played two more songs before you stopped to turn to them. "Can we do Dark Horse?" you asked.
"Why?" Korina asked.
"For him." you smiled, looking over at David. Korina laughed.
"What did I tell you?" she laughed before agreeing to the new song.
You walked back over to the microphone and began the song.
You occasionally glanced at David throughout the whole song. The entire time David smirked whilst listening to the calm, relaxing voice you had.
