Eyes That Can't See

The lie

I woke up to the sound of yelling and screaming. I open my eyes slowly and blinked a few times. I rose up quick when I heard glass break. I was wearing a Nirvana T-shirt and my black half cheek panties. I ran to my door and slammed it open to see what was going on, Tori was on the floor bleeding and her abusive boyfriend (Jack) was standing above her with a broken vase. My eyes filled with tears and my body was in shock. I quickly ran to Tori but Jack grabbed me by my hair and slammed me down on the blood stained carpet. I screamed for help while he repeatedly kick me in my side. He got a good grip on my hair and dragged me to Tori's room. I yelled Tori's name over and over when he was dragging me to her room, but she didn't move. He picked me up and put me in the closet, he locked the closet door and Tori's door. I was so scared for Tori, I didn't even care what happened to me. I banged my body against the door over and over in pain. Till finally the closet door lock broke, I fell to the ground and I got up and ran to the main room door. "Shit! Its locked!", I said. I looked around and thought of a way to get out. I looked at the window and ran to it. I unlocked the window latch and opened it. I stuck my head out to see what I had to work with. I got the desk chair and climbed up to the window, I stepped on the thin window edge. I slowly tried to keep my balance as I walked to my window edge I opened my window and climbed through. I quietly looked in the living room where Tori was. I went in my room and grabbed my wooden bat. I breathed in deep and walked out of my room, Jack was in the kitchen drinking a beer. I walked behind him and said, "GET OUT NOW!" He turned around startled, He said in fear, "Okay! Okay!" He got up and ran out of our apartment. I locked the front door. I ran to Tori and said, "TORI! WAKE UP! PLEASE!" with tears running down my face. Tori slowly woke up, with blood running down from the top of her head. She said, "Where's jack?!?! Are you okay??" I looked at her and said, "Yea I'm fine let's get you to the hospital." We walked out of our apartment and locked it. I helped Tori to the car. I drove us to the hospital. We got out of the car and walked to the emergency room. After checking in and waiting in the waiting room for Tori, a doctor came to me and said,"I'm Dr. kesso. What on earth happened to you guys?" I looked at at her and said, "Our pipes burst and it flooded the apartment. Tori slipped and hit her head on a vase. I took a tumble in the bathroom and hit my side on the counter." I sighed. She looked at me in disbelief and said, "Well good thing you all are okay and next time your pipes burst call someone for help." As she looked down on me. I said, "Thank you, may we check out now?"
