I struggled for breath. He can't be real. He just can't. This was like a blow to the chest. No, it was a blow to the chest. "Hazel?" I called softly to her, but she went up to the door and knocked. "How did you find this place Hazel?"

"I don't know. It was like I was being driven by a car." Her answer sent tears down my cheek as the door was open by a man with brown hair.

"Hazel?!" He exclaimed with wide arms. He laughed excitingly. They kissed with passion.

"Miles," she breathed through the kiss.

"Yeah, Hazey G?" Hazey G? I couldn't help but laugh hysterically at his cheesy nickname. "Uh, who are you?"

He asked as he pulled away from Hazel.

"I'm Augustus Waters." I announced. "Hazel's boyfriend." Hazel sighed as Miles chuckled.

"Oh cool. I'm her wife."

I felt as if I had died again. And again. And again. And again.

"Gus, I've passed on. I've moved on. Our love, that was when we were young."

"So that kiss," I choked on my words. "That kiss meant nothing to you?"

"Gus that was a moments weakness."

"Weakness? Are. You. Kidding. Me. I felt something. Love, passion, relief. I don't believe you didn't feel those too. Not even for a second."

"Gus..."

"No. I've spent 9 years up here without you and I was doing fine," I lied, "and I think I can last another." Lie.

I walked backed home without looking back.

I sat in my bed cried. And cried. And cried. For hours. I couldn't stop. How could this be? I'd been watching her and she'd been so lonely, praying for me to come back. I felt so bad I wanted to go down and comfort her. But she never got married. Or gone on a date. Nothing.

So I left my house to see what the fuck was going on.
